MAC Address Lookup helps you identify the vendor behind a MAC address or OUI prefix. Paste an address, enter a prefix, or type raw hexadecimal text; the app normalizes common formats automatically and shows the matching assignment details when available.
Use it to check network devices, audit inventories, troubleshoot unknown hardware, or understand why a randomized address does not resolve to a manufacturer.
What you can search:
- Full 48-bit MAC addresses
- 24-bit OUI prefixes, also known as MA-L blocks
- 28-bit MA-M prefixes
- 36-bit MA-S and IAB prefixes
- Common formats with colons, dashes, dots, spaces, or raw hex
Result details can include:
- Vendor name and postal address
- OUI prefix and assignment type
- Address range and block size
- Unicast or multicast transmission type
- Universal or locally administered address type
- Initial registration and last-updated dates
Randomized MAC address detection:
Modern versions of Android, iOS, Windows, and other operating systems can use randomized Wi-Fi MAC addresses to reduce tracking. When an address is locally administered, MAC Address Lookup explains why a vendor match may not exist instead of showing a vague not-found result.
Search history:
Successful vendor matches are saved locally on your device for quick reference. You can delete individual entries or clear the full history at any time. Search history is excluded from Android backup and device transfer.
Database snapshot:
The home screen shows live database statistics, including supported block counts, last update time, and API response time.
Privacy:
- The app sends only the first 9 hexadecimal characters needed to resolve vendor blocks.
- The full 48-bit MAC address is never sent to the API.
- The app does not read your device MAC address, Wi-Fi scans, location, contacts, camera, microphone, or advertising ID.
- No account, login, ads, analytics SDK, or crash reporting SDK.
- Network communication uses HTTPS.
Data source:
MAC Address Lookup uses the maclookup.app database, built from MA-L, MA-M, MA-S, CID, and IAB registry data.
