• HVTS - Listening Comprehension Test by Schallquelle is a unique and important diagnostic tool for daily work with hearing-impaired patients. The test checks all relevant speech sounds for the precise diagnosis of listening comprehension in patients and customers with a cochlear implant or a hearing aid. This allows CI adjusters, hearing care professionals and therapists to see exactly which speech sounds are causing problems for the customer or patient when it comes to listening comprehension, and hearing aids can be adjusted precisely and therapies planned effectively.

The app automatically evaluates the entries and the results can be exported directly to the smartphone or tablet as a PDF and sent to other specialists.
The test displays both quantitative and qualitative values ​​that are arranged in ascending order of frequency.
The quantitative representation shows an overall score as a percentage and the understanding of the individual speech sounds as a percentage.
The qualitative evaluation shows which speech sound was understood for which.

• The precise evaluation and detailed presentation enables the CI adjusters and acousticians to adjust those frequencies that cause the patient or customer difficulties in understanding speech with a cochlear implant or a hearing aid.

• Therapists such as speech therapists can read from the evaluation table which speech sounds are mistaken for which. In this way, therapies can be planned and carried out more easily and in a more targeted manner in order to provide the patient with the best possible support during hearing rehabilitation.

• The results can be saved as a PDF and sent to the relevant patient, doctor or other specialist.


• Intuitive implementation:
The test can be performed either by a specialist or by the patient himself. The app was designed to be intuitive to use. The instruction video shows the individual steps for conducting the test. Hearing-impaired people can also understand the video because it has been provided with a typeface.
A certain level of proficiency in dealing with mobile devices is of course required.
The implementation takes a maximum of 10 minutes. Listening comprehension can be tested side by side, separately, via headphones, direct connection to the CI or via the free field.
