About this app

Remember the good old days when your parents tucked you in at night and read your favourite bedtime story? Now you can read your little ones, or even yourself to sleep with BookBeak’s African short stories brought to life with Ebooks, audio books and video animations.

Inspired by real African stories, BookBeak gives parents more representative stories for kids and themselves with BookBeak Original short stories, Local Hero stories to connect today’s youth with their rich history and, custom storytelling features all from unpublished and published writers.

Key Features:

KIDS STORIES
BookBeak gives parents new and relatable stories to read to their kids for bedtime and pure entertainment with a consistently growing library of African short stories.

GROWN UP STORIES
Sometimes you’re just looking for a good weekend read and not an entire novel. You’ll find plenty in our impressive and ever-growing library.

BOOKBEAK ORIGINALS
BookBeak Original short stories are stories published specifically to give parents rich and meaningful stories that are more representative to read for both their kids and themselves.

LOCAL HEROES
BookBeak is connecting our youth with their rich history by bringing local South African hero stories to every renamed street sign that can be ignited using Augmented Reality.

AUDIO SHORTS
We all know that our little ones love visual and audio stimulation. That’s why our BookBeak inventory also includes a range of audio shorts, Ebooks, theatre readers and videos.

CREATE YOUR OWN
Imagine how cool it would be if there were a story about your little one! Choose from one of our many stories and type in your child’s name to replace the main character’s name with their name and make them the hero of their own story.

UNPUBLISHED WRITERS
At BookBeak, we know everyone has a story to tell. That’s why we have published short stories written by unpublished authors.

The app also hosts free content powered by BookDash and NaliBali which is in the form of picture books.
