While Japanese numbers are very logical and straightforward, understanding them quickly when someone is speaking is another challenge altogether! When you are in the middle of a conversation, the other person isn't going to pause for a few seconds while you do mental gymnastics trying to figure out exactly what number they said!

When you hear a number in your native language, you can visualize what number it is instantly. This app will help you achieve that same proficiency in Japanese, too!

It's a very simple app. It simply reads random numbers, times, and dates out loud to you, and you try to understand them! You can configure the speed of the voice, the length of pauses between numbers, and the types of numbers that will be spoken. You can just practice 0-9, or you can go up to 100 million! You can also practice things the other way around, by looking at a number displayed on the screen and trying to read it aloud before it changes to a new one. I recommend practicing for just a few minutes everyday, and you should see your listening comprehension of Japanese numbers skyrocket in no time!
