About this app

I wanted and app to log my ham radio contacts on the phone while operating portable. That's why GYKLOG was born, but it can do more than that.
If you have a Yaesu FT-817 or FT-897 (I think FT-857 also) you can control the radio via Bluetooth. You can get your locator from GPS, lookup a callsign on QRZ, calculate distance and bearing from a locator, see how you're doing with simple statistics on QSOs. You also have a check on dupes.
GYKLOG was not born to be a logbook for your station, and is not an app I'd use in a contest if I planned to make more than a few hundreds contacts.
Other than that, I use it all the time and I hope you too will find it useful.
Logs are written in the GYKLOG folder in your phone's memory. An ADIF file is created for you to import in your preferred logging software. When contesting a generic CABRILLO file is created for you to edit on PC before the final upload.
For the Italian Activity Contest an EDI file is created ready for upload.
PDF manual on bit.ly/IN3GYK and videos on bit.ly/youtubeIN3GYK . I'll be happy to hear from you and your suggestions but please bear in mind I'm not a professional programmer.

All the best!
