This app could be so much better and much more efficient. Even though I am a Lifemiles member, the app does not store personal info and it has to be entered for each booking. The app also can't complete bookings a lot of the time but the seat gets held. Then, when you go to book again the fare is higher. That's not a good customer experience.

The plane ride was comfy and everyone in the plane was nice. But the website, app, and customer service need a LOT of work. We weren't able to add additional bags for the cheaper price prior to the flight, gave error message everytime. Couldn't check in for the same reason from this app or the website so we had to at the airport. When we paid the addional money, the girl didn't give us our change when we were scrambling with documents. Had to ask for it back.

I have tried dozens of times to open the app over the past few days. On either WiFi or mobile data, the app refuses to load past the loading screen and always returns the error "Something went wrong. Please try again." I fly many times a month, with many different airlines (due to regional availability), and I shudder whenever I have to take an Avianca flight. I never experience issues like this with other airline apps, but this is on par with what I have come to expect from Avianca.
