Every day in Austria, perfectly good food ends up in the trash—often simply because someone bought too much or has leftovers in the evening. The RetterApp brings this food to where it's still needed: to neighbors nearby.

HOW IT WORKS
Have something to spare? List it in less than 30 seconds: photo, title, quantity, pickup location, pickup time—done. Others in your area will see your offer immediately.
Looking for something? Discover offers the way that suits you best: as a list, on the map, or in swipe mode. Save what you like or pick it up directly.
When picking up, you have a choice: For direct pickup, simply let them know you're coming. Or you can arrange a time—then the person offering the item will release it for pickup.
SIGN UP ONCE, THEN IT'S EASY
To ensure that a real person is behind every offer, you'll confirm your phone number with an SMS code the first time you use it. After that, you won't need it again: You log in with your chosen username and password. No one else will ever see your number.
WHAT THE RESCUE APP ISN'T
Nothing is sold here. There are no prices, no discounts, no shopping cart, and no hidden catches. Food is simply shared—nothing more.
YOUR DATA REMAINS YOURS
• You use a name of your choice, not your real name.
• No one but you can see your phone number.
• Lists and maps only show the approximate location of an offer—only registered users can see the exact address in detail.
• Messages are tied to a specific pickup and are deleted afterward.
• All data is stored on servers in Austria—except for push notifications.

WHY IT'S WORTH IT
Throwing away food consumes water, energy, and space—and it hurts when you think about it for a moment. Rescuing food and sharing it with neighbors is the simplest sustainable step in everyday life: free, done in a few minutes, and the impact is immediate.
WHO'S BEHIND IT
The RetterApp comes from Food Rescue Austria, a non-profit organization (ZVR 351215064) based in Vienna. We don't earn anything from the distribution—and we don't want to.
