Blank pages, no support from Tech Dept. It is loading blank pages on my android tablet and phone. Today it is loading some pages from the previous day but most pages remain blank, this is not satisfactory for a paid subscription, I want a response from the technical dept so that this can be fixed. Reading through other reviews I can see this has been happening since 2014.
Much improved Previous login problems made the app so unusable I had to cancel my subscription. These have been fixed and the app is very usable now. I have trouble accessing the content in some wifi contexts but that might be due to local policies. I've left the previous review to indicate the change. It was two stars. "Can't login. The page after login never stops loading. And when I try resetting my password via email link the page won't load"
Poorly designed app.. No crossword or latest news in Android version! Fairfax thinks iOS is the only version worthy of full development.. Shame Fairfax as there are far more Android tablets and phones than Apples.. Wake up or lose subscribers..
Persistent as wreck this app You have paid for a subscription and now Fairfax have embedded ads over the top of some news stories with no way of getting rid of them. Highly irritating. Makes the app unusable. You can't read the stories, which is why you formed out that money for in the first place. DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS APP OR WITH THE PAPER. Fairfax have crossed the line here.
Poor support from Fairfax and google - Fairfax fixed it Was enjoying this app & subscription until about a week ago the app has ceased recognising that my subscription is current. Contacted Fairfax and they said it's not their problem. Contacted google and they have indicated that all is well with my subscription. Only outlet is to post a poor review in the hopes that someone in the know will look into this problem. Fairfax finally acknowledged that the problem with the app and has rectified the issue. If only it wasn't so hard...
If this is the best Fairfax can do, sell their shares It might come as a surprise to senior management and the board of Fairfax but in 2016 the best publishers in the world are continually improving their digital publications..not sitting on their laurels .the Age android app is poor, slow and lacks any innovative features. Read other reviews for confirmstion of this and the appalling lack of tech support. If you want to see where the Age should b try the Washington Post, Quartz ...and where is Fairfax's android version of the Fin Review?
