I have been using The Chemical Maze since it was a little book that could be carried around the supermarket. The app makes it much easier to look up. I have kids with multiple allergies and intolerances, the red, orange and green faces make it really easy to discern quickly the safety of a product, so easy that on the odd occasion my kids want to try something new I let kids look it up and decide if it's safe for them. I like that it has the extra details on affects etc.

Just paid for and downloaded this app and the first list of ingredients I have gone to look up and half of them aren't even listed ... ??? The list appears to be pretty light on for and you have no way of knowing what the app contains til you get it... Disappointed

Hi Katie
Thanks for your feedback. Depending on the product type (food, cosmetic), manufacturers can list ingredients by multiple names eg. avobenzone in sunscreen has at least 9 synonyms. We typically list only the most common covering about 80% of products. Pls email team@chemicalmaze.com with your ingredients & we'll happily send an evaluation.

Useful & not, for soy allergy... I am hypersensitive to traces of soy & found myself regularly searching ingredients & derivation of everything edible, so I hoped this app might cut down time spent on that, however it only contains a half dozen soy additives - I know that there are around 260 listed as soy additives on other pages, however this app only has half a dozen.... (There are many more because soy can be used in manufacturing processes & not be overtly declared IE "Manufactured without"
