Great app. Easy to set up recordings for my 2 Beyonwiz PVRS. Would like to have a 'priority' system where I can select which show I would prefer over others (any old Topfield users remember the TEDS program?). Also if the app/emails could explain why a recording has failed. But all in all an excellent addition to my home entertainment solutions.
Best used as part of the total package. Can tell most pvr s to record across the Internet. Can send a standing query to your podcast player so you know a week ahead something is coming. A great app. Staff even answer emails on pvr queries.
Does the job - Kind Of Would like a favourite button on the Recommendations. And series info under coming soon would be helpful as it may say new series but it is only new to that network! Coming soon under Recommendations is out of date, hasn't been updated for months. I find more info on tv tonight. Not as on the ball as it used to be... and sadly thanks to network programming the coming soon is inundated with reality TV and more reality TV masquerading as documentaries.
It was a great app before they took the away the feature which allowed me to access the scheduled time and channels of my programs from my "favourites" menu. The favourites menu now is useless as I cannot go to my favourites list and see when my programs are scheduled. Bring this feature back and the program is fantastic.
The lack of ongoing development and poor responsiveness of the technical support team (person) let this product down. If there was a viable alternative o would give then a go!
The monthly fee is a bit of a downer but it hasn't stopped me using it, so maybe that says it's worth it. Originally it was free with my Humax purchase, but the company went into liquidation, possibly because it was free. The new owner charges and therefore may remain solvent which is in my best interests. Service is amazing. When my WiFi was down while I transitioned to the NBN (and my device disappeared from their connections), the CEO of IceTV contacted me on a weekend, concerned that I was missing out. During our exchange of emails he offered to suspend the account and shared his own frustrations transitioning to NBN. Personal service from a real human is a refreshing experience these days. Being disconnected for a few days made me realise how useful this app is. I can be away from home and hear about a great program coming on. I just open the app, find the title, set it to record and it's waiting for me when I get home.
