Auto top up holds your money hostage whilst the minimum balance just sits there unused in perpetuity. Of course they say it remains yours and you get it back when you close the account, but if you need to park in places that use paystay you can't close the account. How do you close the account anyway? You have to call them. Whole lot of rigmarole to get back money that was always yours! No option to pay as you go or be charged monthly based on your actual spend like other apps.

Hi Louise, we're sorry to hear about your experience with the automatic top up system. The top up system makes sure your account always has enough funds to cover your parking charges. You can call or email us at customerservice@paystay.com.au to close your account.

Such a stupid designed app. 1. you press stop then you need to confirm stop. 2 To add new vehicles you get directed to a web site then have to log in, which is ridiculous considering your in a logged in app. 3 to delete vehicles the button presses are over the top and you need to go out to a web site to do it, not in the app. 4 it holds money. can't it just charge when you finalise parking.

Hi Malcolm, there's a 2-step process to stopping a session to prevent users from accidentally stopping one. For security reasons you need to enter in your login details to update your account. The app allows you to start sessions without logging in. PayStay has an auto top up to ensure your account always has funds to cover your parking charges.

Sketchy af. Predatory. They take money during sign up without ever making it clear they are taking money as soon as you confirm your payment details. And during sign up you've forced to agree to an automatic Top Up. I've come to know now that deleting my account and cancelling PayStays access to my payment details is a complex process involving contacting them via email etc etc. Account cannot be deleted through the app or website. Its a data and money trap.
