My initial review and feelings of this was not good. However after few weeks and a refund (great customer service by the way), I was recommended to try the app again, and it has been amazing. I love the little details in the app (telling you your stats in a humorous way) as well as the light and beautiful layout is fantastic. My favourite part of the app has to be the synchronization with other devices which allows to continue to listen from where you left off on different devices.
Excellent podcast app - the best one I've used on Android. I happily paid for the upgrade and am really enjoying the ability to sync. I am reserving my last star for: 1. The ability to view my listening history (even if it's only the last 10). Sometimes I have a queue and I get distracted (or fall asleep) and I don't know what I've missed. 2. The ability for listeners to rate/review podcasts (like iTunes). 3. Easier access to podcast description in my subscription section (when you have lots of podcasts, sometimes it's hard to remember what each one is about).
It's OK App looks great, but doesn't seem to have the option to auto start/pause on Bluetooth connection connect/disconnect. This seems like a very basic feature that's missing. I guess it's back to DoggCatcher for me until I can get that in Pocket Casts. Dev says to use Tasker for this. That's great if you can hack a way around this missing option, but wouldn't it just make more sense to build this basic feature into the app? Everything else in this app is made to be as user-friendly as possible, it's crazy that the "recommended" method of getting this functionality is to use the infamously un-user-friendly Tasker app.
If you want to go ad free with your podcast app, this is the way to go. Has all the features I like (being able to rearrange the order of your podcast, show episode descriptions, dark theme, easy interface). The only two annoyances are that you can't preview more than one episode of a podcast that you haven't subscribed to, and it automatically marks all episodes but the newest as already 'played'. While the second issue has a solution, it should be an option under settings to prevent having to do it for every podcast
Brilliant app... couldnt ask for better really. Easily find, download/import podcasts, listen and delete when done. All in a wonderful simple and intuitive interface and modern design. Never crashes. Great playback options, auto download and delete facilities. Can trim silence, fast forward at a pre determined rate set by you and... heck its an awesome app, just buy it already!! My most used app by a mile!
Fantastic app for podcasts. Very much worth the price. Downloaded it roughly 2 years ago and haven't looked back since. Cross device sync is fantastic, the interface is beautiful yet intuitive, playback is smooth as butter,it even gives you stats! (I've spent 57 days out of the past 2 years listening to podcasts). My few nitpicks would be the discovery features aren't amazing, but still decent and you have to pay more money for their web version but again, that doesn't stop this app from being a 5 out of 5 in my book
