Review from Ian Rawlings
Bought for the Sonos support which has not progressed into something useful. Wasted money, wasted time, and slows down the Sonos app. Very poor, time to uninstall.
Thank you for making this app! It has quickly become an essential part of my day. The library of podcasts is second to none, the syncing is almost always perfect, and the web version is fantastic. Only one feature is missing - there is no option for continuous play other than playlists and queues. Please add an option for continuous play. I'd love to have the next episode start playing automatically. I hate when my queue ends while I'm driving or in the middle of a task. Every other app I've tried has this feature, so it seems strange that Pocket Casts - which in every other way is the best podcast app I've ever used - doesn't have this ability.
As an I.T. pro who listens not to music but tech conversation podcasts, as a free app this is great. I've tried Apple's & other podcast apps but this has better functionality and ease of use (on Android at least), at leaqst for the price.
The UI design and overall feel and presentation of the app is incredibly smooth and polished. The discovery features are great. However, it is not possible to search for individual episodes. All episodes are marked as played by default (except the most recent one). This makes no sense. If you mark all as unplayed, then load old episodes, you still have to remark everything as unplayed again which might mean marking something that you have already played in the meantime as unplayed again. Why not just have everything be unplayed by default? These issues do not exist on other free apps I've tried, so for the price that is a really big problem.
These people care... They have far and away the best app for you podcast junkies, as well as browser support to listen through your computer. When things break, they're quick to fix it. They have fantastic support who are fast to respond, and frequently update the app to maintain it's status as top of the podcast mountain and do it all with a great sense of humor! If you're like me and need a place to store your 100+ podcast feeds, but are also wondering if you can calculate how many farts you may have released in the time you have listened to these podcasts, this is the app for you!
Excellent selection of podcasts. Was able to find all the podcasts I listen to, event the really small ones. Great GUI. Minus one star for the inability to search for individual podcast episodes. The search is only available for podcast channels. Certain channels have a list of a few hundred episodes. How am I supposed to find anything from older episodes?
Great app. I initially gave a bad review because of a big usability bug rendeing this unusable for classes, but it was quickly corrected. The fact that developers are responsive to bug reports is a fantastic rarity. Bugs are inevitable, but how quickly they are handled separated good devs from bad ones. Keep up the good work!
You start to appreciate how many people rely on your app when you break something, even if it's only for a small set of people. So to all you fine people having issues where the app would lag worse than playing PUBG on what is supposed to be a decent machine: this versions for you. Install it, rejoice in the restored frame rates and live a happier, longer more fulfilled life.
