Review from David Thorne
Love the app. Easy to use. Use it every day.
Great podcast player and well worth the money. Their patch notes are hilarious, which means a lot to me. Free syncing across devices and it backs up all your podcasts. Fairly frequent updates. It runs smoothly and is virtually bug free. I am a voracious podcast listener and the only podcast player that I have found to be better is "Downcast" on IOS. However this is a strong second and by far the best podcast player on Android. I could not recommend it more. Thank you, keep up the hard work
I really wish the same functionality of the old delete button would be restored. If you select "hide unplayed" it hides all unplayed for every podcast, not just the one you selected it for. And I'd much rather have old episodes hidden off of my feed. There are a lot of podcasts with hundreds of episodes and it's nice to be able to hide individual episodes from the feed as you work your way through the archive. Please restore the delete button as it was, or add a button that allows you to hide selected episodes rather than just a blanket "hide all." The idea of switching to another app just because of that one small (but crucial) feature has been ruined is heartbreaking.
Can't mass delete anymore. Also, after deleting episodes (one by one), they seem to automatically re-download if they're not marked as played first. So deleting episodes after listening to them now requires they be marked as played first, and then individually deleted. A formerly quick and simple process now takes many more steps. What a bad update. Might be time to start looking for alternatives.
Until the most recent update, this was hands-down the best podcasting app on Android. For the most part, it still is, apart from one time-consuming change to how downloaded episodes can be deleted. What you used to be able to do is select multiple episodes and delete them. Now, even deleting a single episode requires multiple clicks in and no option exists to delete multiple. Not sure why this was changed but it's an annoying enough change that it deserves being called out.
Even with the "fix" delivered with a huge amount of condescension the app does not work like it used to. Anyone know of an alternative? I regret paying for this app now. Edit: Podcast Addict looks great. You can only delete one podcast at a time but it is quick. Also if you filter by downloaded podcasts you do not see any that you have already listened to.
You have the nerve to say we freaked out and ask for a group hug when all you should have done is a roll back. Yes the delete button is back but it still doesn't function properly. You released an update that wasn't ready for prime time and accuse the people who pay you for a product. Shame on you!!
We know a few of you freaked out when your bulk delete button disappeared, and you can all relax, it's back. You can now bulk delete downloaded episode files again. It won't delete the actual episode information, but you can mark it as played (that's what the tick does) and we've added a new 'hide played' option to the podcast top right menu if you really don't want to see them again.
We've also fixed the size of the navigation drawer for cute tiny phones like the Jelly phone.
