– Where does our weather app data come from? –

Our data comes from a variety of sources including our own in-house forecast models and the Bureau of Meteorology. The Weatherzone Total Lightning Network is the most advanced lightning detection network in Australia, with lightning data delayed by up to 10 minutes for app users. For real-time lightning data for businesses, please see: https://business.weatherzone.com.au/products/total-lightning/.

– Attention: Brisbane! Free Severe Weather Warning Alerts –

Brisbane City Council has partnered with Weatherzone to provide Brisbane residents with free severe weather alerts. The alerts are location-based, so you only receive warnings if you may be impacted. Note that location-based features use the GPS running in the background and this can impact your device's battery usage.

22/10/22. The recent update to this app has broken it. When viewing the rain radar, pinch to zoom and pan will not work until the radar settings or layers settings are saved with the done button, then it functions normal. When closing the app and opening again to view the radar, the issue repeats. It seems the settings are not saving. I've attempted to submit a bug report and screenshot within the app, but that will not work either.

The biggest issue is the radar. Takes forever to load up. When it dose it often resets and loads again and/or when my phone goes to sleep mode because it takes so long to load, when I wake the phone up the radar starts all over again. 😴 I end up just going to BOM radar and ozrunways for the radar overlay and other live rain radars as it is just frustrating dealing with this feature. A good feature is the servere weather area is shaded red.

Handy, at-a-glance, radar widget still shows a blank space on the home screen after 7 Nov 2022 update. At least it now responds to a tap by bringing up the forecast rather than the radar. Widget didn't even respond to a tap for a week or two prior to this update even after a reinstall, which annoyingly cleared all saved locations. Forget that bit about the radar widget responding to a tap - no longer does anything. UPDATE: a week later and it's finally fixed - radar widget active again.
