About this app

An Australian Government mobile application that you can use to lodge an Australian Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) application. The ETA allows eligible passport holders to travel to Australia for short-term stays for tourism or business visitor purposes. Terrible experience! I was able to scan & photograph. App glitches at enter address point. Over 4 hours attempting to enter address, app saying "no internet connection". Tried in 2 different households, deleted & reloaded app 2x. Turned on developer mode of android & installed fake GPS app as suggested by another review- this allowed me to search & get address, but could not move to next page - again no connection mesg. Turned off MS Defender phone protection & was finally able to complete!

The app works all the way until the final step, which apparently requires to submit the applicant's current location. It keeps failing, even though the app has been granted access to location data, and other apps are able to accurately determine my location. There is no workaround to get past this point and submit the application.

The picture-taking process is maddening. Though initially green-lighting the photo(s) the app would, shortly thereafter, reject the photo then start the entire application process over again. Attempted on 2 different phones (one less than a year old and another about 2 years old) with both front and back cameras, many, many times each to no avail. I researched the issue and realized it's fairly persistent among many users. Maybe it's time to fix it?
