VicTraffic is the official traffic Android app from VicRoads.
The app stays up to date by automatically downloading new content when it is available.
Road Closures and Traffic Alerts are generally uploaded to the application during peak traffic periods of Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 6:45pm and after hours during significant emergency events.
Details include location, impacts and any special instructions such as detours.
Pre-planned interruptions such as Roadwork’s and Events are available up to 48hours in advance.
Travel times are provided via a map interface for the wider metropolitan area and major Melbourne freeways are listed with segment breakdowns.
Live traffic camera images are available from strategic locations around Melbourne to provide you with a live image of exactly how traffic is looking there and then.

• Region and Municipality filters

Used to love this app, but since the recent update and the request to enter my route before I get to a map is frustrating. I find it counterintuitive and preferred the "quick overview" style of the entire city to plan my route. Not to mention my freeways wouldn't save and they would flip directions (in/out of City). Didn't think I was that technology illiterate! Will uninstall.

Used to love it and as a courier was super useful. I like just being able to see the road colours so changing my route would still be effective but now you can't see all the roads and how busy these area is in one go.

It was good before the recent change to the interface. The traffic map was a bit slow but I found it really useful. And the freeway times great. But now the whole app is useless. Uninstalling.

Not the best app update. In the Freeway Travel Times the heading buttons are not aligned. Pretty bad UI. Also I don't understand why you've changed the colouring of your app logo from green to orange. I don't think anyone associates vic roads with Orange.

App is awful since last update.....too many problems to even mention here. Bring back the last version please.

Used to love it, know it is useless. Miss the map that shows the roads and incidents
App is a good start. Issues are times on saved routes do not refresh. Cannot bypass tolls on journey planner.
Information not up to date Road closures need to be updated. Doherty's road between Derrimut Rd and Tarneit road has been closed for 2 days due to flooding g, however this is not listed on the app. Got caught out in severe traffic as I had checked the app before leaving. This is not good enough your app needs to be updated it's over 48 hours after the closure and still not being listed on the app!
Great for. Planning a trip. Would be good if it used google traffic in general but the API isn't free and what do you expect for free from a government organisations app. Use it in conjunction with Google Traffic. It's great.

Can't see the map for the number of roadworks symbols. Switch them off - they still appear.
Needs improvement. Doesn't show every incident and it also shows old ones
Useless app. Doesn't even show the roads that are actually closed. No real purpose.
Road accidents and closures not updated enough for to the minute info
In my opinion, the interface is a lot better than the previous. Also like the 'save' feature
New UI good but saved items don't update and you have to reload freeway screens to get their updated times.
Fantastic app to see real time car travel times in Melbourne. The saved routes are extra useful to quickly see times for your common journeys.
Why on earth would you remove the traffic map? The old app was much better.
The better i can plan my trips from the eastern suburbs to the city or western suburbs the better! Cheers.
Half way through to "must have app" All the freeways are listed, but I can't see Hume Freeway, where is it? Would be good to have predefined routes stored, and get alerts when something happens on those routes; it'll avoid me to search in the app everyday. The rest looks pretty good.
Very handy to assess traffic conditions. HOWEVER two major issues - it regularly crashes my phone , resulting in the need to physically pull out my battery to reboot my phone. This is the apps fault - this is not a phone issue. Secondly, why upon opening do we have to see the entire State - why can't it default to a screen only encompassing Melbourne Metro area. After all that is where the traffic is!
My German visitors were not able to install this app because it has country restrictions on it. IE 'this app is not available in your country'. They are about to drive through Victoria, including near some of the areas where there are road closures due to the fires.
Great! Finally it's on android! My only complaint would be that I don't like to wait for the map to load because I'm mainly interested in the freeway travel times. But overall it is great.
Great Awesome app, does what it's meant to. Only gripe is lack of option to chose default view on start up (always open in travel time view instead of map)
Samsung s3 zooming problem I can't zoom in map to see traffic conditions. ..it was working fine few days back. But now it sucks
Regular user Can a function for a favourite geographical location at a tab if a single button be added so I don't have to zoom in or search suburbs? Otherwise great app to plan everyday work trips.
Very good Bloody awesome app. I use the freeways and west gate and bolte bridges almost daily so it's very handy to be able to observe live traffic.
Waste of time Compared to the exact same app for iphone this is ridiculous. Cant save favourites so wouldn't bother using it
Why does this apo require additional permissions? Is this stepping over the line and invading my privacy? Why do you need access to media files and device I.D.?
Victoria doesn't mean Regeonal A Major intersection in Shepparton has been closed for 3 months & still closed, Benalla Rd & Doyels Rd. Does not show up on this App.as road works.
Very slow Moving around the map is very slow. The website is much faster and smoother therefore easier to use. I'll stick to using the website
