Due to the Earth's rotation, the stars in the night sky appear to move in circular paths. A "star trail" photograph is a type of long-exposure image that captures this apparent motion, turning the stars from points of light into beautiful streaks or arcs across the sky.

This app automates the process by taking many photos over a period of time and merging them into a single, stunning star trail image.

This app isn't just for stars! You can use the same technique to capture other types of light trails, such as:

- The flow of car headlights and taillights on a busy street at night.
- The light trails of airplanes landing or taking off from an airport.
- Any other long-exposure light painting scenarios you can imagine!
