Can't get All the BBC news, you have to make it sélection. And it is completely unusable when travelling. This new version of the BBC news app has learnt nothing from the earlier app. It does not feature a true offline mode, each section must be updated separately and even then doesn't always work when there is no network. Furthermore, the BBC deliberately blocks the earlier app. A disgrace. A better solution would be to allow the two apps to co-exist, possibly with different names.

WARNING: There are now video adverts which start playing unexpectedly when you swipe to the next story, usually accompanied by loud music. They are very alarming. Epileptics and people with heart trouble BEWARE. Videos often don't load, but the interminable adverts do. Many 'aren't available in your country'. Headline news stories can be there for days, some for weeks. Content is politically biased. I used to love this app. This updated, advert infested version is hugely disappointing.

On every page, there is an ad occuping almost half of the page, and it keeps reappearing every time the page is scrolled up or down. And a 27-second video news that I tried to watch this morning was preceded by a 30-second ad. What is worse: I clicked to one of tgese videos, let the 1/2 minute ad run, and tgen, surprise: the video is not available in my location! Very annoying!
