The BBC News app brings you news from the BBC and our global network of journalists.

The app also offers the BBC World Service Radio streamed live, social features and personalisation so you can re-order the news categories to suit your interests.

Ratings and reviews

With the new version I have much less control over what I see. I no longer see "My News", though you claim it still exists. I see only Top Stories, Explore (what does that mean?), Popular and Video. The layout is less compact. More than ever, you are deciding what to show me. There were many technical faults with the old version (especially for video) but at least I had a large choice, with regional news for example. That has all gone. I reinstalled APK of old version and disabled updates. Works

The new layout is awful, looks like it was designed by someone in the marketing/advertising department instead of an experienced UX designer. The list of topics has disappeared, there's no longer the ability to choose what you want to read, the spacing is wasteful. Please revert to the previous version while you sort out the problems. Now open it once a day instead of multiple times and force stop it after closing because there's so much tracking. Not updating the Sport app.

I made the mistake of updating the app after having been thoroughly satisfied with the features in the earlier versions. Now, it has almost none of its previous capabilities. For example, I can't tailor content to my interests. Unless the older version is restored, I will probably discontinue my use of it after MANY years of it being my main source of high-quality, verified online news.

What's new

We aim to release regular improvements to the BBC News app. Recently we've been working on enhancing some fundamental elements of the app, which should help us to add some exciting features in the future.
