Ratings and reviews

The new app sucks. In previous versions I could tailor the feed to my interests so that it presented stories about subjects/areas that interested me. That customization option is gone; now I have no control or choice over what is presented and have to scroll through numerous sections that are, for me, irrelevant to find the news that I actually want to see. A huge backward step by the BBC.

The new update took this from my top news app to my worst one. The loss of "my news" combined with no ability to search means it's borderline impossible to find news relevant to my interests. If it's not "breaking news" or in the top 2 stories in a popular category, then it's impossible to find. The new UI is also so wasteful with screen space that it's very frustrating to use. You're lucky if you can see 3 article previews at a time when scrolling, with a ton of wasted space between them.

Agree with all the previous comments relaying to the updated app. BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS VERSION. THIS NEW ONE SUCKS! All the problematic issues: spacing, no search tool, lack of my news, annoying return to the top when opening an embedded video, reduced news articles, etc, etc. Can't stand this app and it use to be my go to world news app. Ditching it today and using the website instead since that at least does not appear to have lost integrity!

What's new

We aim to release regular improvements to the BBC News app. Recently we've been working on enhancing some fundamental elements of the app, which should help us to add some exciting features in the future.
