Your body needs energy and burns calories even when you're doing nothing at all. Based on factors such as age, height, and current weight, we're able to determine an approximation of how many calories your body burns in a day in order to maintain its current weight. Includes both Imperial (lbs, ft, in) and Metric (kg, cm) options.

Thanks for your review! Your BMR is how many calories you need to maintain your current weight, so in order to lose weight, you'll want to eat fewer calories each day than the number calculated (until you reach your goal). You'll also want to recalculate your BMR as you diet, this is because the number will go down as you lose weight.
