In any situation and at any time, what counts is the possibility of real-time positioning of search participants. In the event of finding a living person or the need to help a rescuer, the coordinator must be able to provide the coordinates of the place to which other teams/services are to reach in the shortest possible time.
In such moments, support comes in the form of an application that sends live positions to the coordination panel, facilitating the work of teams - in the field and at the headquarters.
Another aspect is the analysis of the collected data: how the area was checked, whether it needs to be searched again. Thanks to the continuity of recording, the coordinator sees the empty spaces left in real time.
The application is free and available on the Android platform. For the application to work, you need an internet connection, GPS. A data frame consisting of: coordinates, current time, code name, information about the SOS status, battery charge level and the accuracy of the received signal is sent to the SiR server at a time interval of: 3 seconds.
The SOS function is used in the event of a life-threatening situation for the rescuer, informing about the fact that a person has been found.
The application, although it requires an internet connection, is able to work offline until the signal from the GSM network is restored. After reconnecting to the Internet, items that have not been uploaded are re-uploaded.
The application allows you to:
- tracking the position of other participants in real time,
- drawing the traveled route,
- SOS button - to notify the staff about the need for help - also visible to other participants by highlighting, switching on causes a repetitive sound signal,
-preview of designated sectors,
-sending text messages with a loud notification,
-preview of longitude and latitude,
- setting a point - the direction and the remaining distance to the marker are displayed,
- setting an individual codename,
- conducting actions in secret mode,
-sending information on the current state of the battery,
Comments:
1.) If the app shuts down/resets, battery optimization is enabled. Go to the settings, select the SIRON application and disable battery optimization or change the application startup to manual mode by selecting: automatic startup, intermediate startup and background operation. The problem may occur depending on the specific phone models.
2.) It is recommended to set a code name - do not use your first and last name. After installing the application, the codename is a unique ID.
The application is not affiliated with the Search and Rescue Association.
