The Chapecó Coronavirus application is an extension project of the Federal University of Fronteira Sul (UFFS) Chapecó campus. The purpose of the application is to provide easy access to information about COVID-19 for the Chapecoense population and thus contribute to the reduction of community transmission of the new coronavirus.
About the project:
The project, carried out by medical academics Brenda Thomas and Rafael Fagundes Lopes, supervised by professor Thaís Nascimento Helou, had the collaboration of academics from the Computer Science course, Jean Carlo Hilger, Junior Vitor Ramisch, Mateus Koppe, led by the professor and course coordinator Fernando Bevilacqua.
The proposal seeks guidance and information from the population on preventive measures against infection with the new Coronavirus. It will be directed both to suspicious cases and to asymptomatic individuals through an application developed by UFFS professors and students of the Medical course in partnership with the Computer Science course. The application will be disseminated through banners to be placed in the Basic Health Units, Emergency Care Units and the Regional Hospital of the West, as well as through telephone consultation also carried out by UFFS students and health professionals in the city of Chapecó. As a result, the population is expected to be more informed and aware of the necessary preventive measures for the new Coronavirus pandemic, with the aim of reducing transmission and preventing new cases of the disease.
