This version is in maintenance mode only, so only critical updates relating to Play Store and security will be made.

Lawnchair uses the AccessibilityService permission for optional support of making certain system functions more accessible, such as with desktop gestures, like turning the screen off. Lawnchair will automatically prompt you to enable this if it is necessary for your configuration; for many cases it is not! No data is collected from the AccessibilityService; it is merely used to invoke system actions.

Lawnchair uses the Device Administrator permission to lock the screen when a selected gesture is detected. This is optional and disabled by default.

Ratings and reviews

I like that I can organize my apps in different tabs. But it's a pity that the order of the tabs can't be changed once they're created. Furthermore, for many of my apps, every time they're updated, they'll end up in the general App tab and I have to sort them into the correct tab and that gets annoying.

I long considered this to be the best launcher for its expansive feature set, but it hasn't been maintained in years due to the devs focusing their efforts on a complete rewrite. You could get away using this on a phone that's years-old and/or running old Android, but it can inexplicably bug out on modern phones and I doubt most people in the market for a custom launcher are going to have the patience for that past the first couple of instances. I sure didn't, and so I sadly had to switch.

Taking away a star because of a simple issue that's driving me crazy: if you set the desktop layout to dimensions that aren't 1:1 (i.e trying to set it to 6x5) it will later set itself to a 1:1 ratio (5x5 or 6x6). Please fix it, it's really annoying. Other than that, great launcher! It works well and has very good customizability. One feature that would also be nice is a "pull-up" dock like in the Microsoft launcher (instead of 2 rows showing at all times, it shows 1 and you swipe up for more)
