Lantern Chess an ICC Interface

Lantern Chess on Android is an interface for playing chess, observing games, and chatting on the Internet Chess Club, If no ICC account then users can login as a guest and play unrated for free. This app may be used with a 30 day trial as well if not had yet.

Lantern comes with a play the computer mode accessible on Board tab's menu available on and off line as well though not while playing ICC games.

Tips for using it the first time

Users can go to the Lists tab and chose the seek graph or seek list to find a chess game. Hollow circles on graph are unrated and may play guests. Another option for members is going to the Board tab's menu and entering an auto pairing pool. On Lists tab there are choices to watch high rated games going on, broadcast games and current listing of ICC videos to watch as well.

There is a menu on every tab. Reconnect is on the Con menu. There is currently on screen access as well. Some screen shots don't reflect the on screen menu in that view but are otherwise the same as live.

If the user gets a tell, hit the f9 button(near typing area on Con tab) to respond.

On the first log-in the user has to type his name and pass in the name and pass fields. The user can save his name and pass in the con menu for next reconnect and these fields will load

Font size can be changed in the con menu. On list view, use the menu to change between lists or view Seek Graph.

If the user moves a channel out of con to chan1 or chan2 tabs then they won't have to type tell (channel number). Guests can't join ICC channels but members can.

There is sound on the board tab menu. If users don't want sound, disable it on board tab's menu and it will save the setting.
