Been great for years, not anymore No need to reiterate the positive reviews for this app, as it has been my goto time/weather widget for years now. Sadly with a recent update, opening the weather widget causes multiple permission prompts for writing system settings (no need) and notifications (again, no need). Will update when it's fixed. Should also note that these prompts continue to pop up every time it's opened, not just once.
Amazing widgets with great customization, or it used to be I used to love these widgets, would use them on all my phones and everything. But then this latest version came out and it's barely working, slugging behind and the clock just freezes and won't keep up with the time. Causing my to thing it's earlier in the day than it was. Kind of the opposite of what a clock is supposed to be doing.
Permission pestering 99% of my use of HD widgets is for the weather screen. I now get pestered for access to my notifications (which I will never give) every time I open it. EDIT: Judging by the dev reply their attitude is "haha we've got your money already so why should we fix anything!"
NICE! Great selection & color, really nice app. Edit: 2016. Been using this App for a long time. Now they want more Permissions, most people are complaining about Notification Permission, on my Nexus 6P there asking for SYSTEM PERMISSIONS, NO WAY! Back to Yahoo Weather, it's a shame.
Notification access I don't use the ringer on/off switch yet even after the newest update it's still asking me for the access every time. We should be able to deny this permission unless we use the ringer switch. It gets annoying having that pop up every time we open the app. :(
Asking for notifications permissions over and over again. I'm a longtime user and the widget is asking for notifications permissions (which I do not want to grant as it's unnecessary) each time I click on a widget. It has become annoying. Please update so it asks once or twice but not each time for permissions.
Please note: one of our old switches (ringer on/off) now requires the notification permission. It's something Google changed last year. Not sure why they did it. Sorry for the hassle.
- permission crash fixes
- notification update
- minor fixes
- blowing off some old dust...
- clock fix (hopefully?)
- switch fixes (for the ones that are still viable)
