Awful experience with this app. If it does bug and close out, you get overcharged for a ride. Went on less than a 2 mile ride and tried to end it. Was in a designated parking area and it wouldn't let me end it. It overcharged me and went on for more than an hour resulting in my funds draining and me having a panic attack. Called the number, couldn't get anyone on the phone to talk to. Ended up having to turn off my bank card. Do not recommend.

Been using Bird Rides for almost a year, and it was all good until I ran into a nasty glitch a few times. The app straight-up wouldn’t let me end my ride, no matter what I did. I reached out to customer service, but it was just a bot that wasn’t much help. The error kept saying, “Can’t stop at this location,” even though I was 100% parked in their designated blue zone. Still got charged $20-$25 for those super short rides just because I couldn’t end them. So yeah, be careful when using this app.

The rides are super fun and convenient but it's way too expensive for my developing country, it's basically same as or more expensive than a taxi here. At least not having the "starting fee" would be nice. Also the app charges you for an extra minute even if you're over last minute by a second, and the app takes 10s of seconds to end the ride (even though my network connection is good), which are included in the ride duration.
