Works wonderfully! I would give it 5 stars if you could put the comupter back to sleep on command as well. I know there are other apps that do this but it seems they want me to download a file on my PC. Seems risky for spyware. This needs no computer files added the comp to wake it up! Great work!
great for synology + raspberry pi never have to get out of the sofa again. :-) thank u to the developer. what a good looking and functional app, great widget too. 5/5 well done. edit: thanks for explaining why app needs permissions to storage, csv dump is a great idea. edit II: i cant find a donate link in th description...
ALL WHO RATED 1-STAR PLS READ THIS NOW! Wake On LAN (WOL) is an internet specification, not a "product". Here's what you need to know: 1. Your PC BIOS MUST support WOL 2. Your network card MUST support WOL 3. YOU must enable WOL in BIOS and/or NIC You also need to know this: * WOL does NOT work over WiFi, only on a wired Ethernet connection that is always plugged in. This is not the developer's fault and there is literally nothing they can do about it. * There is NO such protocol as "Shutdown On LAN (SOL)". The only way to accomplish this is to download some sort of custom helper app (agent) from the dev that runs 24x7 on the PC you want to remotely shutdown. * WOL by definition CANNOT use IP addresses, only hardware (MAC) addresses because duh, your computer is turned off and thus doesn't even have an IP address yet. Hardware NICs (Ethernet ports) are always listening on their MAC addresses even when your machine is off. WiFi adapters are just plain off, dead, not listening on IP or MAC.
The application is a beautiful piece of work. Has yet to fail me. But, without the ability to also shutdown the device is a very large downfall for this application. Until that becomes available, I'm not 100% satisfied with this application.
I love this app, I use it to wake up our computer lab pcs at once. Just wished you could add a select all button so you can wake up all of the computers at once. But great app!
Combing this with Tasker is best. I set it up to turn on PC when I connect to my WiFi. So when I get home from school, phone connect to WiFi and turn on PC automatically, 'till I get in the house PC is ready. Also with Autovoice, when I wake up in the morning I say "Wake up" and PC turns on 'till I get out of bed.
~ Fixes issues with MAC address entry (Please let me know if there are any issues with this!)
+ Adds ability to limit online status checking to a particular WiFi Network!
While creating/editing a device you can choose a WiFi network out of the list of networks that your phone knows about. Once set up Wake On Lan will only check the online status for that device if you phone is on the same network.
~ Fixes a couple of reported crashes.
