This is very useful and does what it was created for in terms of payment without handling cash. However, when it comes to renew the new time allowance starts since the moment you paid without considering whether you have some time still in the clock. For instance, I checked how much time left I had and it showed me 21 minutes so I decided to add an extra hour since I knew I would definitely need more time; I thought I would have 1h and 21 m but no just one hour. It is not good enough. Fix it. Don't be cheeky
It does its job and does it well. I use it every day at several locations. It's pretty much accepted at both public and private car parks everywhere I go which is very handy. I often use its map feature to find parking spots it supports. For me paying cash at parking machines has almost become a thing of the past. I have not really experienced any of the issues mentioned by previous reviewers - yet. So I continue to be a happy customer. Keep doing what you do team Ringo .. go!
1. Only able to register 1 car* (I have 2). 2. GPS location didn't work (I did grant permission) - update, this did subsequently work so possible it may not have been an app issue. 3. Permission was requested for screen overlay with mentioning why. 4. During registration it does not clearly enough state that some SMS messages are chargeable. 4. Doesn't tell you what credit cards are accepted. *Addendum: I subsequently found that other cars can be added.
Takes ages for parking to refresh in history You make payment but your parking history is not refreshed for ages. Receipt takes up to 10 minutes to arrive by email so you're left wondering if you've actually made payment. Annoying as this is what the council has forced us to use. I made a 2nd payment of 50p simply because I didn't receive confirmation of my first payment. The app should refresh immediately to avoid confusion.
Reliability bad The app has dramatically reduced in reliability over the last month. Screens take 20-30 seconds to move on. Sometimes just comes up with error messages about signal strength when I have full 4g. Very annoying if you use on daily basis and park quite far away from your work.
One big problem is that if you have two cars it is easy to pay for the wrong car when you think you have chosen the right one. UPDATE It is good that if you can use two different cards (social vs business), but the app should be clever enough to use the same selected card when you extend an existing session. I nearly got fined today because I didn't notice that the payment had failed because of this.
A few cunning tweaks to the RingGo Android app mean it now gracefully handles situations when there’s no Wi-Fi signal, when the device’s memory makes a goldfish look elephantine, and when you’re adjusting permissions on Android 6.0 and newer. So get parking!
