Review from Brian Crawford
Amazing app What a great idea. Vocab learning throughout the day without even feeling like you're practising! A few weeks go buy and all of a sudden I've memorised hundreds of new words!
October 27, 2014Hi Brian, thanks so much for your positive feedback! I'm so glad to hear you're learning a lot with the app. If you really want to accelerate your learning, why not create a custom pack with our Pack Creator? That way you can learn material catered to your needs. Check it out at create.unlockyourbrain.com! Best wishes, Fraser
BEST APP for what it should do! Unique and stunning idea. I learned so much word with this app over years. And it is implemented very good. A big recommendation to anyone who is in school or wants to learn a new language. But up to now, the whole commercialism had brought this app down. I used it since it had like 5'000 downloads, recommended it to many friend. But then they destroyed this app, you can not make anyone to pay for a thing that was better and free before. I'm so glad that you made a restart. And I understand completely why you had to kill your packages, nobody can make more money out of less content and less users. THANK YOU for making this app another time free to use for anyone. But can you bring your language packs to Quizlet??
I was really looking forward to using it but it just won't open! I can see it in the overview of opened apps but when I click on it nothing happens! I uninstalled it, rebooted my phone, nothing works...Apparently it has to do with my phone brand. I tried to install and open it on another HTC and it was the problem! Is there anything else I could try?
Update: developer has screwed up this app monumentally. No more language packs and unable to continue with current progress for existing users. I don't think the developer understands their customer base AT ALL. And claiming they can't continue updating content doesn't answer why existing content had to be removed permanently. Looking forward to someone building a copy of this app. Developer FAIL. Talk about downgrading a once great app. So I reinstalled this and tried to restore my previous progress but it didn't work. I now discover the lock screen option (which had been free for a long time) is now a trial and I've exceeded the trial. It wouldn't be so bad if I was a new user discovering this requirement but it's extremely poor form to impose this on your existing registered users. This is reflected in this rating. Embarrasing move.
App was great had it for over a year. Had to uninstall and reinstall. Now it says everything in my native language and not the language I want to learn. Changed so many settings in my phone and downloaded the recommended tts that your app suggested. And it still does not work. And the quizlet add on my god! It's horrible. It's hard to find a good flashcards since everyone names them the same. You should've kept yours as a default or recommended. The setting area for the app is horrible. Heard beta testers are happier. Update: tried a flash card to learn Dutch (1 i want to learn) to English (my native language) and the dutch works. That's great. In that case the english should be spoken. Update again: Tried creating my own, got the same results. For people who are having this problem. What you do is create your own. And for the term choose your native language. And definitions in the language you want to learn. Don't know how the multiple choice will be but at least it'll be in the language you need to hear.
This USED TO BE a great App, but after the final "update" now you are forced to sign up on a "community" website just to simply being able to start it! What a pity.
The app wont open. I tried many times but it still doesnt work. I'll give you an extra star because this is a great idea, even I never try it!
