Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read contains 36 progressive lessons featuring leveled learning activities that cover key building blocks of reading: short vowels, simple plurals, simple compound words, beginning and ending consonant digraphs and blends, two-syllable words, and sight words.Each lesson concludes with a story specially written with the words just learned. Your child will read this book, proudly, on their own.

If your child is in Pre-K, has not quite mastered the alphabet and letter sounds, or they are struggling with Step 1 of the Learn to Read program, The Pre-reader section may be a good place to start. Practice Pack Program:

What sets Hooked on Phonics apart from other reading apps is the option to include complementary Practice Packs that help a child develop concepts of print, as well as appealing to even more types of learners with off-the-page, hands-on ideas for deeper learning at home. Built using feedback from education experts and our customers, the Practice Pack program includes 5 Pre-reader, and 12 Learn to Read packs that include workbooks, stickers, storybooks, and in the first Pre-reader pack, flashcards that are sent to the home, monthly. Users can customize how often they receive these shipments through their account dashboard to tailor the pacing to each family’s needs. Hooked on Phonics is absolutely the worse app I have ever had!! I can't login to cancel the subscription. It keeps saying incorrect password. I know my password, plus there is not an option to change the password. They keep sending me message saying final notice. They are still trying to process a payment for something I do NOT want. Just bull!

The new version is awful. My daughter loved the old version and learned so quickly. She's in first grade and can read beyond second grade level. We were still going through hooked on phonics for practice and reinforcement. She's struggling with a lot of it because it's confusing and boring. It makes no sense. Why would you ruin an amazing and loved program? I think everyone who experienced the old version wants it back. It actually worked and kids wanted to do it. Please listen to us!

3 stars because he was showing progress before issues started. Originally purchased the app before they changed it. Since it has changed we've had lots of issues of progress not being saved. I also recently have had issues with loading. It seems to get to 33% and sit there for about 5 minutes before either it times out or opens up but runs slow. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it more than once. I even tried it on my other devices and we are running to into the same issue.
