Simple & it works FYI, you don't need to have a Ti calculator to get a operating system rom. Just go to the Ti website, navigate to the downloads section of the calculator you want and download the latest version of the operating system. Put that file somewhere on your device and add the rom. That's it.

Kenneth Monnin

Excellent All Around Got this going in no time at all thanks to TI having a free download of their 89 rom. Played with it for a while and it runs beautifully! Only problem I've seen is a lot of flashing on the screen playing assembly games, (my primary use for my ti-89 in calculus class was games... (: ) Any idea what causes that? I'd love to play calcrogue again... but it's giving me a headache, lol!

Evan Tabor

Bare minimum emulator This app has so much potential, but I feel like it falls flat. Suggestions: we all know what it looks like, can we have an option for a button grid, rather than buttons with dead space around them? Also, make the text on the buttons (in grid form) change with the pressed function keys. Make the screen area slightly smaller for more room for buttons. That would make it perfect in my opinion.

Wow!! I can't believe I got this to work! For those who rate one star: go back to using a landline! You have no business with such an advanced device! **But with latest update the buttons aren't as responsive as they used to be but I do like the improvements especially since I upgraded to an HTC One! *2014 update: Now the keys are very responsive, I don't know how since there was no update but I'm love this app! My favorite one!

Incredibly Simple I have a TI-89 Titanium which i use all of the time, but generally when i need it in any actual applications, i never have it in my bag and am forced to resort to my phone calculator. Standard Calculators just never cut it for me. Yet with this app, while i still love physically owning a TI-89, guarantee's i'll never be without it even if the actual device isn't with me. Excellent App! This is truly using the capabilities of a smart phone!

Mikko Rantalainen

Very good implementation If only Texas Instruments did provide a way to purchase a copy of the ROM legally, this might be even better than the real hardware. Obviously one gets better haptic feedback with real buttons but otherwise emulated hardware is better (better screen viewing angles, possibly better performance than with real hardware).

User reviews

Fantastic emulator This is a wonderful tool. The application is extremely easy to use, even though the calculator it is emulating is a beast to wield. TI has the latest updates for the ROMs on their website, so you can quickly find and download the latest version. Easiest emulator I've ever used by far.

Very Good I used a 89 when in my calc class long ago. I do math as a hobby now, but didnt want to buy another calculator for the purposes of having some fun with math. So far i see the 89 run flawless, however i see some quirks with the 89 titanium rom. I tried the titanium first, but removed it and installed the 89 rom instead. Still i think its a great emulator. You can get the roms from ti website

Nostalgia Makes me want to dig my 89 Titanium out of the closet and play with it again. The 89/92 series of graphic calculators were very powerful handheld machines in their time, and now we live in a world where cellphones can run them. Good work but has one problem so far, when sending a file, and it's already on the calc, then the app crashes.

Works Perfectly, and Open Source To Boot! The TI-89 interface is nothing like the interface on the TI-83 and 84, and a poor reason to rate the app with one star. The CAS and 3D graphing capability alone make the calculator more advanced than the 83 and 84. Whether the 89 is better than the 83 or 84 is a matter of debate. As to the app itself, its best feature is the ability to install apps to the "flash memory" of the calculator, allowing the emulator to use the apps that come standard on the TI-89 Titanium, including the stats and list editor. A minor complaint, and one that does not merit a reduction in rating, is that the TI-89 Titanium keypad is too bright, thanks to TI using a "Titanium" finish. I've fixed this in my copy of the app, built from source.

Works fine but having a bug This calculator is working awesome on my samsung galaxy win.But I ran into problems when I hit 2nd+on key.Instead of quitting the emulator application completely, the virtual screen just goes off and the virtual buttons become unresponsive....then I have to quit it using the home button...how to fix this?

Great. Really. I love my TI89. I've still got my school TI89. It's resting in a drawer. Without brain, though, so to speak, as it's lending its ROM to my S5. As a student I thought the TI89 is a device to carry with me always, because you never know what situations you might get yourself into some sunny day... possibly an instable tesseract that affords complex calculations to escape before it collapses ;) Now, with this app I've finally got it in my pocket really ALWAYS, wherever I go. That's great. Really. :)

Best app ever You need a tablet to be able to see the buttons but if you've got one, this totally works as a graphing calculator. Helps me so much! (later edit) loses one star for the file transfer feature having problems. Won't let you upload more than one file to the calculator's memory at a time without locking up. Irrelevant bug if you dont use that feature as most people dont.

Oh My This app makes me want to go back in time. I would go to my 5th grade teacher and ask "why can't I use a calculator?" and when the robotic response came "You won't always have a calculator with you!" I would punch her in the face. I mean seriously, I saw this coming 32 years ago when I was 10. I LOVE this app because I loved my TI89! And it is ALWAYS with me...take that Ms. Chatterton!

A Most Excellent App I just started my dabbling, and to say it succinctly, this app/emulator is a mirror of TI's line of graphing calcs, and a very stable one at that. The one thing to add I can think of is the ability to install apps(and from what I saw it's already suggested). But until then, I'm going to play with the software and check out loading the apps into a ROM via the emulator/TI's dev tools on the PC, when I've got time. Two thumbs, an outstanding app! You'll never have to use your abacus again!

Excelente. The best app for engineer student Perfecta en SG Note con ICS

## Graphing Calculator by Mathlab

If you're looking for a graphing calculator app that works smoothly and seamlessly, you've found it! Graphing Calculator by Mathlab is a scientific graphing calculator integrated with algebra and is an indispensable mathematical tool for students in elementary school to those in college or graduate school, or just anyone who needs more than what a basic calculator offers. It is designed to replace bulky and costly handheld graphing calculators and works on virtually any Android phone or tablet.

Furthermore, Graphing Calculator by Mathlab displays calculations as it performs them on the high-quality display of the Android device, making it easier for the user to understand the calculations and see them clearly. This app has two great strengths. First, it acts as a fine scientific calculator, but, more than that, it displays the intermediate steps of the calculations as you type. It allows the students to both watch and learn how the calculations are made and how to find the final answer. Second, the graphing ability is absolutely stunning! Not only does the calculator beautifully display the graphs, but it automatically generates the x- and y- values and displays them as well.

## Free Graphing Calculator

A powerful, flexible graphing calculator . . . and it's free!

Does far more than most of the paid calculators out there . . . let alone the free ones.

Features:

1) Scientific Calculator. Simple to grasp and easy to use, but powerful features are available when you need them. Available functions include the following:

• the usual arithmetic functions and exponentiation.

• square root, cube root, nth root, natural log, log base 10, log of arbitrary base, absolute value, factorial, permutations (nPr), combinations (nCr), modulus, random integer, bell curve, cumulative normal distribution, decimal to fraction.

2) Graphing. Capabilities:

• Graph up to four equations at once.

• Graphs are labeled.

• You can drag the graph or pinch to zoom in or out.

• Calculator can find roots and intersections.

• Graph in polar coordinates.

• Graph parametric equations

• Can graph implicit functions, such as x^2+y^2-4=0. Most calculator apps can't do this!

3) A unit converter. With a tap, you can enter the result of your conversion into the calculator. Currently converts different units of the following: acceleration, angle, area, density, distance, energy, force, mass, power, pressure, speed, temperature, time, and volume. Great for doing physics homework!

4) Constants for scientific calculations -- speed of light, strength of gravity at Earth's surface, etc. etc. etc. Tapping on a constant will insert it into your calculation -- i.e, you don't have to key in the value. Again, great for doing physics homework!

5) It can make a table of the values of a function you enter. You can choose the starting x value of the table, as well as how much x increases for each successive row.

6) Help screens linked directly to many of the available functions and constants. Tap the disclosure arrow to see the definition.

7) Forgot the quadratic formula? Or the double-angle formulas for sine and cosine? The math/science reference hits the high points of various subjects. Currently includes algebra, differential and integral calculus, geometry, trigonometry, vectors, vector calculus, and classical mechanics.

8) Statistics -- enter data and make a histogram, box and whisker plot, or scatter plot with optional regression line.

I'd love to hear your comments or suggestions. Because of spammers, my email address is not in this description, but it is inside the app, and it's great to hear from real users.

## Graph 89 - (with TI84 support)

Graph 89 is an emulator for the TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-83 Plus Second Edition, TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus Second Edition, TI89, TI89 Titanium, TI92 Plus and Voyage 200 calculators.

*Please remember to read the ROM section below before downloading this application!

It will turn your phone or tablet into an exact replica of your calculator. The emulator will provide the same functionality and generate the same results as your real calculator. Being ported to Android means that it will always fit in your pocket, have a backlight, be rechargeable and also run faster.

You would be able to install applications by copying the App file to the internal memory of your phone, pressing the 'Back' button and selecting 'Install Application/Send File'.

Graph89 would be great tool for math, science and engineering courses in high school, college and beyond. Some of these calculators feature Computer Algebra System (CAS) having the capability to simplify and symbolically solve mathematical expressions.

Graph89 combines two powerful emulation engines which make it the only app in the Android Play Store to support the full range of TI graphing calculators.

1) TiEmu - http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tiemu providing support for the Motorola 68K family: TI89, TI89 Titanium, TI92 Plus, Voyage 200

2) TilEm - http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilem providing support for the Z80 family: TI 83, TI 83+, TI 83+ SE, TI 84+, TI 84+ SE

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

ROM:

Emulators are computer software which simulate a specific hardware. In order for the emulator to do anything useful it needs some software to run. The software that runs in your calculator (ROM) is copyrighted by TI, and as such, it can not be distributed by Graph89 or any other emulator for that fact.

This means that you will have to provide the ROM file yourself by extracting it from your own calculator. Transfer it to your phone, and then tell Graph89 where to find it. To extract the ROM you can follow the instructions from http://www.ticalc.org/programming/emulators/romdump.html and by using TiLPII from http://sourceforge.net/projects/tilp/files Google and youtube are also great sources of tutorials and help.

Wabbitemu http://wabbit.codeplex.com/ is also a great tool for extracting the ROM from your TI83/TI84

Supported ROM files:

TI89, TI89 Titanium, TI92 Plus and Voyage 200:

*.rom, *.89u, *.v2u, *.9xu, *.tib

TI83 Plus, TI83 Plus SE, TI84 Plus and TI84 Plus SE:

*.rom, *.8Xu

TI83:

*.rom

Firmware updates (*.89u, 9xu, *.v2u, *.8Xu) which are normally used to restore the operating system of your calculator can also be used as a ROM image.

Needless to say, you will be very disappointed if you purchase Graph89 without having the ROM file ready. You will just see some instructions and a blank screen.

-------------------

Graph89 needs permission to look at your Android Account in order to generate a unique ID shown under F1/About. This works only for TI89/V200. Note that there is no internet connection required for this App.

* If any of the digit keys are disabled, or the decimal point doesn't work, or you have answers with letters in, or basic arithmetic appears to be wrong, then you are in binary, octal or hexadecimal mode. Press DEC to return to decimal operation. If you don't need these modes, please make sure that 'Radix Modes' is disabled in the settings.

TiEmu, TilEm and Graph89 have been developed independently of Texas Instruments and are not affiliated with TI.

Texas Instruments and TI are trademarks of Texas Instruments Incorporated.
