The periodic table of the chemical elements is a tabular display of the chemical elements. Although precursors to this table exist, its invention is generally credited to Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869, who intended the table to illustrate recurring ("periodic") trends in the properties of the elements. The layout of the table has been refined and extended over time, as new elements have been discovered, and new theoretical models have been developed to explain chemical behavior.
- The periodic table (zoomable and in some devices pinch-zoomable)
- Descriptions and illustrations of the elements (touch element for information)
The following properties are displayed for each element if the value is currently known by science.
Group, Standard atomic weight
Electrons per shell
Phase, Density (near r.t.)
Heat of fusion
Heat of vaporization
Specific heat capacity (25 ∞C)
Van der Waals radius
Electrical resistivity (20 ∞C)
Thermal conductivity (300 K)
Thermal expansion (25 ∞C)
Speed of sound (thin rod)
CAS registry number
The application is not meant to be a normal periodic table, but it has been completely redesigned to provide a better user experience on smartphones.
While a classic scheme of finding items is administratively cumbersome, with Periodic Table Pro simply enter one of the following information from: name, atomic number and atomic symbol, and the search is done in a few moments, giving you all the information you need at hand.
The strength of the application is its powerful search system, implementing algorithms that allow efficient information search in a matter of milliseconds in the worst case.
Among the wealth of information available online, you can also refer to the illustration of the electronic configuration and if you want more information about the item, just log on wikipedia directly by the APA and that's it.

Gold, Uranium, Helium, Fluorine, Iron, Magnesium, Barium, Sulfur, Indium, Lead and many more! This educational game uses 92 images showing the symbol for each chemical element with its atomic number and atomic mass, to teach you to recognize the first 92 elements of the Periodic Table. Enjoy the symbols and original music, listen to the names, and choose the correct images. Read the facts with each element for lots of interesting information, such as how it is produced, who discovered it and when, how it is obtained and how it is used (2,398 facts in total). Before long, you will be familiar with all 92 elements ranging from the Halogens and the Actinides to the Lanthanides and the Post Transition Metals.
"The Periodic Table" is both educational and fun. The game features Race Mode, which asks you questions at speed to test your memory. At the end of the race, you can check how well you have done relative to your other races. Slideshow Mode shows you all the symbols and facts in sequence. Simply slide through the images with your finger on the screen, both horizontally for chemically similar elements (eg. Halogens, Noble Gases etc) and vertically by atomic number. Quiet Mode allows you to play this game with or without voice prompts.
The game also features easy on-screen gestures to help you quickly find Facts, Race Mode, Race Results, Slideshow Mode, Quiet Mode and Help. Or you can use the standard Android menu. Original music composed by David J Bevan.

The periodic table is a tabular display of the chemical elements, organized on the basis of their properties. Elements are presented in increasing atomic number. The main body of the table is a 18 × 7 grid, with gaps included in to keep elements with similar properties together, such as the halogens and the noble gases. These gaps form four distinct rectangular areas or blocks. The f-block is not included in the main table, but rather is usually floated below, as an inline f-block would make the table impractically wide. The periodic table accurately predicts the properties of various elements and the relations between properties. As a result, it provides a useful framework for analyzing chemical behavior, and is widely used in chemistry and other sciences.
This functionality already comes bundled with the developer's Scientific Calculator application but it also works well as a quick reference in a stand-alone application for those not needing the full functionality of a scientific calculator.
Click on each of the elements to see details of that element. Click on Show Legend to see the listing of the element groups.
This is an ad-supported app - an ad-free paid version is also available for a nominal US$ 0.99 but, as always, it's probably best to test the free version first before parting with your hard-earned cash :) - to download, please search for Periodic Table (adfree)
