About this app

impcat (short for Interactive Miniature Painting Catalogue) is a simulator for photorealistic painting results on gaming and tabletop miniatures.

This tool gives you a variety of miniature images that you can select and then paint with colours you own or perhaps wish to purchase. It works with predefined colour palettes, using names and values as promoted by their manufacturers.

To achieve a high quality result the system simulates a four step painting process:
Base colouring, layering, shading and highlighting.

Features (BETA 0.1):
- A list of 6 miniatures, provided by Artel "W" with up to nearly 30 individually paintable sections, which will be expanded with the upcoming updates.
- A list of colour palettes, containing Vallejo Model Color, Vallejo Game Color and Vallejo Model Spray Paint (308 colours in total), which will also be expanded with the upcoming updates.
- An complement recommendation mode that lets you select a base colour and then automatically applies harmonizing layer, shade and highlight paints, which you can then customize at will.
- A photorealistic simulation of the applied paints.
- A shopping list generator that collects the data of all applied colours and gives you the links to the corresponding shop pages.

Since we want to constantly expand this catalogue with further products on the market, we'd like to encourage you to contact us in case you're interested in participating in this project.
To help impcat grow into humongous proportions simply visit www.design-bench.com/impcat for more information.

Its damn good. I did need to download the Citadel colors and the Riptide model, and it was hard to use at first, but it does what is says it does. Just remember these things and you'll be fine; if you want to add something to the app to check the downloads folder, you need to have the model on screen to load a saved color scheme, and if all else fails to visit r/Impcat and ask there/check the supplied links. I would like to see more models added/included with the app, notably gw ones but its ok.

Okay, I really like this app. Sure you have to download some models but it is very easy to do so. But I have a bug that someone can hopefully help me with. I will have a model that I am about to paint, but then for no reason it all goes silver and I can't do anything until I refresh the model. Also none of the metallics are working and all of them are silver. Again I really like this app I just need a little help if available, thanks!

It's great, easy to use, and worth way more than its price tag. Extremely quick and easy tutorials, great community and models. If it doesn't look like there are much models, just look up impcat community models, and you can easily download models and paints from a community sourced file pack. Used for a few days, love it! Definitely worth its price, as you get to see Colors on models, without having to buy anything. 9/10, I'll be using it until I stop painting warhammer 40k models

Bug fix (from 1.2.1 release):
Denied access to internally stored files, caused by target API 30 (Android 11), should now be resolved.
