A for effort, D for implementation Besides the lameness of needing a whole separate app just for VR viewing, and the awkward sign-in process (both of which Hulu got right!) the controls are really sketchy -- swipes on the Daydream controller are often undetected or even go in the wrong direction, despite working perfectly in every other app. Still, once you're actually watching, this is a decent experience, and was delivered very soon after the release of Daydream, which is great. Looking forward to improvements in the near future.
Navigation needs a lot of work, but the video plays well and I enjoyed watching in VR.
Nice try, but not complete yet. Having to sign in multiple times is ridiculous, especially when a sign in option is not present while in VR. Also navigation while in the app is not yet smooth enough. Take some notes from other streaming services. With some updates this could be way more enjoyable.
Having trouble navigating Very difficult to navigate to select shows. When playing a show the progress bar doesn't fade away.
Overall, I like it, but the are three things that I would fix. First, offline playback, this is really important as VR is already very taxing on the battery, and streaming video doubly so, it also would enable me to watch on the bus or airplane, which is really where I want to use it. Second is that the controls are a bit difficult. Your UI contains small or close together elements. Third, the login was really bad, I couldn't paste my password in, nor did it authenticate with the other HBO Now app that I have installed.
Its like watching HBO in a movie theater. It can be a bit slow at times and no search button but overall it's a good experience.
