With a little tweaking = A+ app Seriously Wonderful. But could use a simple fix. when I exit full screen, in live view mode (D7000/SonyXperia) the live view window then goes from rectangular to square (cutting off some of the image, and when not "on" some of the text saying "live view off") Sometimes text overlay for the buttons goes out of register as well when I exit Fullscreen. Can only be fixed by quitting and restarting the app.
I only shoot in RAW mode as well, but I cannot even test the software without an $48 license!?? Ummm, no, I don't think so. update: Helicon says to test with camera in jpeg mode. but I prefer to test with my actual camera settings.
Used to work for me I'm having issues with it not detecting the camera at all now I've reinstalled it and when the camera tells me to open the app I open the helicon one yet never detects my camera yet my phone is synced w my camera. I can close I don't have this problem with the EOS Remote app but like the intervalometer on this, also wish you could change the Picture Style and Shooting mode such as 2 sec delay. Please fix this as I want to use this. Also experience much more lag in this app and longer manual focusing times.
Great App but video lags with histogram use I'm using Helicon Remote with my D5300 connected to my Nexus 7 (2013) as a field monitor for video. Everything works great except when I try to use it with the histogram overlay...the tablet's frame rate drops dramatically (Live view becomes choppy). I assume because displaying the video and the histogram at the same time is a load on the processor. I'm wondering if a monochrome video option during histogram overlay would reduce the load on the processor and smooth the frame rate...just a thought. I would also like to see an option where you can choose to display monochrome video in order to gain a bit of a higher resolution. Anyway, out of all the apps of this type, Helicon Remote is the best I've found.
Awesome Asset! This software is an awesome asset for me and my camera. Perhaps it's age - I just can't nail the focus. Once I tether to my tablet I can see and adjust the focus perfectly. Then I get all of the other benefits of Helicon Remote. I'm pleased with this app.
Works like a charm Got the paid version as I like to shoot RAW (free version supports only jpeg). I use it with my nikon d750. Love the app. Tons of features like time lapse ,focus stacking ,focus peaking, exposure bracketing etc. However sound and motion triggers are rudimentary and laggy. Connection to camera using my WiFi a big hassle and inconsistent. Hence 4 stars. Wired tethered shooting works like a charm. Love the app and would gladly recommend it.
* Canon 5DS support
* Fixed a problem with saving images when the camera is set to JPEG + RAW, and one format is left in the camera while the other is moved to the device
