VR app for smartphones: Karlsruher Zeitmaschine
The degree program Geoinformation Management at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences has developed the VR app.
At twelve locations in the city center of Karlsruhe, where interesting changes in the cityscape took place, three-dimensional, stereoscopic 360 ° images were created for five time cuts: 1739 - 1834 - 1915 - 1945 and 2015.
On site, the user can use a VR cardboard and his smartphone to view the virtual all-round views three-dimensionally on a scale of 1: 1. By direct comparison with reality, the historical changes can be experienced.
