Good program, but expensive Well considered overall, but for 20 dollars, I expect to be able to use slide gestures to clear items, scroll through and have more advanced table options.

S5 - - Used one time after that glitches and bugs galore I have an s5 and while checking out the app initially after purchasing it, it worked fine. I entered an expression in the input box and got an answer. After that the input box disappeared so anything I entered had no where to go. Nothing would load from the library, searching was unless as no keyboard would appear while on the search screen. The settings screen is impossible to know what is actually set. As check boxes clear and check themselves in relation to where the screen is scrolled. Rip off

Best Calc. Ever It keot crashing on me, but I sent bug report and they actually fixed it. THX SO MUCH. I like how the graphing works. Everythings perfect, but I have two suggestions. Make the 3D vectors more easy to see, as of now theyre weird looking. And this sugg is just personal, can you add an option to input equations like the app Calculator Pro. Thanks!

A Google User

It was an amazing app I can find solution for higher degree equations, matrices, and plot 3Ds, and even write scripts with my handphones. It easy to use and fast in calculation. Well, it's little bit pricey but worth enough. (23 Mar 2015) But It's not suitable for Galaxy Note 4. The font is too small :(

Great iOS app... but not Android I downloaded this application after a friend showed me the iOS version which is well organized and has many useful features. Once I downloaded this on Android however, I realized that these are two very different apps. The look of the android version is much worse and it is much harder to figure out. The iOS version is easy to navigate, while the android version is confusing and all on one tab! I couldn't believe the difference between these two versions and I will be deleting this application.

A Google User

Powerful, but hard to use. The interface needs... more interface. There's a tutorial that will eat up the 15 minute refund window, but it won' be enough to explain all the features. I'm impressed by the plotter / graphing function, but I do like it better if it's Casio like. A better manual would also be useful.

User reviews

Expensive, but worth it. I was feelin' the burn in my wallet, but after I went through the tutorials (which were excellent) I realized I was wasting my time with all those other cheaper graphing calculators that just weren't doing the job. I mean, if you're a programmer, or if you really need to visualize math in the form of dynamic (and even animated!) graphs, this program is one-of-a-kind. Ughhhhhh, it pains me to take off a star because this is otherwise such an incredibly stupendous app, but I can't give a 5 star ratings an app with a rather crucial annoyance. The text field interactions need work. It'd be nice to be able to select sections of text for cut and paste, especially since I'm on a hardware keyboard dock. Math Studio *really* needs keyboard shortcuts. Make no mistake, though, at its core, Math Studio is a wonderful program not just for doing that one-off calculation, but it's really a tool that encourages you to PLAY with and explore math!

Not Practical for Regular Use This rating is only for the usefulness of this app as a calculator. I'm sorry, but this beautiful app just is not practical for quick calculations, solving problems, etc. As a calculator it leaves much to be desired in interface and user-friendliness. As a programming platform, it may be a different story. Yes, it may be beautiful and very powerful, but if is not easy to work with as let's say TI-nspire CX CAS, or the app MathPac it just isn't useful. NOT recommended for non-programmers.

I would rate this app a 0 if I could. I have been a long time user of SpaceTime, the original version. It ised to be state of the art. This android version does not display the keyboard in landscape mode, the most useful layout. Don't waste your money or time. The developers have known about this issue for at least two years and have not fixed it. Teachers beware. Don't waste your money.

Sophisticated software Most graphing tools and calculators for the Android are limited to 2D graphs, and clunky interfaces. Mathstudio is designed for users who need to do more than graph polynomials; and need a better suite. Just as impressive, they've nailed the interface on mobile devices, and using it is natural to the small screen. While it certainly won't replace Matlab/Maple/Mathematica on a PC, it's a great tool for calculation and visualization while traveling or in the bathtub.

Great when it worked... This app was fantastic when I downloaded it with lots of useful features for my calculus class. Unfortunately, for some reason now it crashes every single time I try to open it, which is very disappointing. If the devs could fix this in an update, that would be great. -- Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.2

Plz fix bugs The integral of x^x is still not fixed plz fix these bugs. The program for the most part works but things like that are a little annoying. That problem really doesn't have a simple solution I know that but it should give you a totally wrong one lol. Plz fix this I will Chang my rating to five star otherwise. Just as a Math major seeing students in my TA class use it only to get the wrong answer is not good. But I'm sure fixing there things it will rock!

Screenshots don't work, among other issues. The interface is truly among the worst I've ever used, but that could largely be forgiven if basic functionality was present. I attempted to save screenshots several times on two different devices to no avail. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete an entry you no longer need, forcing you to keep clearing the whole workspace or living with clutter. I'm sure continued use will reveal more niggles... Paid $10, worth $2. *** EDIT (Nov 14): I've tried contacting the developer through their website to request a refund and have gotten no response. If I've not gotten a refund by Monday, November 18th, I'll be requesting a charge back through my bank for a product substantially not as advertised.

Lacking functionality There appears to be no way to clear the screen of previous calculations, WTF. No way to search either since you can't pull the keyboard up to type. Same problem with searching the catalog, no keyboard. Tried it on my Nexus tablet, no keyboard, thus it is useless. Horrible, look elsewhere for better software, this app sucks.

Incredibly good!! Samsung Galaxy ace. My fave app for maths by far! (have tried many) has tons of features. Intuitive interface/input fields, graphs r absolutely awesome! Fast. Interactive tutorials get you up n running in no time and r a great feature! (pls add more tutes :) Very intuitive equation input field, solve and/or graph. Double click graph to show full screen. Pinch zoom, rotate graphs in 3D. Worth every cent. Thx so much for making this app!

What are you talking about? Does everything I need it to do. Haven't tried scripting, but I can get multiple functions on the same graph and export to a screen shot for my math notes. Geogebra is cool but it's prohibitively laggy. This is totally smooth on my Note 8.0. Seems like every complaint I read in reviews has been dealt with, like button size, cutting and pasting and others. The button interface isn't terribly pretty but it definitely works. Only suggestion: another button panel for user defined shortcuts.

Pretty good MathStudio is better than everything I've seen so far but it comes with a price and isn't perfect. There are still quite a bunch of bugs to be addressed but as of now I couldn't find anything that does the job better. I'd recommend giving it a try for the 15 minutes you have time to test and refund it. It also includes a nice tutorial to get into the software as it has a few nice features I haven't seen anywhere else yet.

Force closes constantly The program worked once and has never opened again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. 20 bucks down the drain unless it is fixed. I have also tried contacting for support. Its been a week today that the program hasn't worked and no one has contacted me back at all.

Corrupt file saves Unfotunately I have lost work I have done in a script file twice now losing hours of typed work. When saving a mathstudio file repeatedly while working corrupts the file at some point. Leaving you with a 28 byte file. This catastrophic bug doesnt allow me to use this anymore. I have left a bug report on support forums yet I am to see any update to the program since the day I puchased indicating this isn't actively developed. Regret purchasing now after reading a recommendation on IEEE Spectrum magazine.

Need to be improved 1. Need comprehensive tutorials. 2. Graph drawing is absolutely terrible -- there are bugs here and there. 3. Keyboard doesn't show in landscape mode! ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• [Older review] Need comprehensive tutorials. Graphing function is still hard to use or trace. For example, "x^2+y^2 = 4" draws an area not the perimeter of a circle. Accessing to menu to delete entry is such a nuisance. Giving 5 stars to show my support, please help me use your app more efficiently.

Math studio app needs examples As powerful as this app is, examples are necessary to supplement the tutorials which make the learning process clumsy. I look forward to an update that will do this like Wolfram Alpha does.

It's developed a keyboard bug with Android 4.4.2. Was working perfectly under 4.0.4, but only shows KB in portrait orientation under Android 4.4.2. (Not in landscape.) Yet, according to their site, the company was only made aware of this 2 months ago, not 2 years ago. And they're understandably reluctant to publish an intermediate update to v5, while working on v6, which has also been promised to Android users, only after the iOS v6 has been released in December.

Wait For Next Release! It was a mistake to purchase this product. I suspect that no one is supporting this on Android since the last (initial) Android release was December 5, 2011. Release 5.4 was released late 2012 for IOS. My problems: My ASUS TF700t is unusable when docked. You can separate it from the dock and use portrait orientation to get the main menus at the bottom of the screen. Scripting options do not seem to be available on Android. There is no “compile” option and scripts in the Include directory don't get loaded. You can save a script and load it with the “Include command”. The Trial Windows version has these options are there, but disabled until you pay another $30. That looks like the same build as Android. You can't create a text file with your script and then load it. You have to use their editor and the script is saved in a format that you can not easily edit. While there is documentation, it's difficult to navigate and determine what's really on Android. I think this could be a great product, but if I had a do over, I would have waited to see if the 5.4 version is available on Android before considering purchasing. Even then, be careful.

Good, but could be perfect. I ave been a long time fan of MathStudio/SpaceTime. I gave up on the company when they lied about the android release date. Got an email from a friend that said MathStudio was finally out and it was discounted as an apology to disgruntled Android users. I installed it and found it to work reasonably well. As an engineer I have tried many math apps and I can say that there are free apps that will do everything this does, but no one does everything it does in one app. Wolfram is close but this works offline.

Interface problems, stopped working Serious user interface problems. On my Samsung Note4 buttons are veery tiny, no keyboard for any search functions. No way to clear previous calculations, and worse of all, when I started the app for the second time, no input screen. Absolutely no way to enter any more calculations. Keyboard shows up, but no workspace. Just a blank screen. I now own a brick app.

Awesome! I love this program. I hear complaints about a crash and it happened to me but it is easy to fix, you have to delete program folder after you uninstall and then reinstall. Love this app!

Almost maple Very good as for mobile app. I would like to see how is it possible to make input of those mathematical expressions easier on a smartphone.

## Maxima on Android

Maxima, a full featured computer algebra system, now runs on your Android mobile devices. Maxima, and its predecessor Macsyma is one of the most long-established software in the world, back in 1960s at MIT LCS and Project Mac. You can perform many many math operations such as integration, differentiation, matrix operations, rational numbers, symbolic treatment of constants such as pi, e, euler's gamma, symbolic and numerical treatment of special functions such as sin(x), cos(x), log(x), exp(x), zeta(s), and many more.

Maxima on Android is a port of Maxima on the Android operating system. Thanks to Sylvain Ageneau' effort on porting Embeddable Common Lisp to the Android OS, the latest Maxima code runs nicely on ECL on Android with very small changes to the source code.

Maxima on Android is a combination of many open source software: ECL on Android, MathJax, and Maxima itself. I wrote roughly a thousand lines of Java code and a hundred lines of HTML including Javascript code.

The installation of the software requires total of 90MB on the storage. 30MB needs to be installed on the internal storage. The rest of 60MB can be installed either on the external or the internal storage. The first run of the apk will ask you where you want the 60MB to be installed.

Then you can enjoy Maxima / Macsyma on your mobile phone or tablet based on Android OS.

Solve is a calculator like no other! Solve solves expressions as you type and features an innovative memory system to store and recall answers. Simply touch the answer to store it and touch the stored answer to use it in an expression.

Solve has four tabs that select four different calculators each with its own color. Multiply numbers, calculate a tip and find a square root all without clearing your results!

Plot graphs with a single touch! Solve plots 2D and 3D functions using the x, y and θ variables. When you use the x, y and θ variables in an equation the answer will say Touch to Plot. Touch this label to graph the equation.

GRAPHING

Plot functions using the x variable. For example, "y=sin(x)" is just entered as "sin(x)".

• cos(x)

• abs(x)

• x^2+2x+6

POLAR GRAPHING

Plot polar equations using the θ variable. For example, "r=2θ" is just entered as "2θ".

• 2θ

• sin(2θ)
