In 1985, the first mass media outlet in the region was created in Campos Sales: Rádio Cidade AM de Comunicação was created, owned by the Patriolino Ribeiro Group, from Fortaleza.
The Patriolino Ribeiro Group, owner of the Cidade de Comunicação System in Fortaleza, at the time, had radio stations in some municipalities in the interior of Ceará, radio stations in Fortaleza, in addition to TV Cidade.
The Cidade de Comunicação System arrived in Campos Sales, thanks to the involvement of the radio broadcaster, Danúbio José, who encouraged the arrival of this venture in the area of communication.
It was Danúbio José who brokered the purchase of land and other details that made it possible to install Rádio Cidade in this municipality.
Under the direction of the businessman, Miguel Dias, who later received the title of Cidadão Campossalense, for investing in communication in Campos Sales, Rádio Cidade, would be, around two to three years later, sold to the doctor, Paulo Ney Martins, who to this day owns the station.

One of the highlights during the station's history in its programming schedule was the program: Forró do Danubão, which mixed the northeastern rhythm with news, presented by Danúbio José.
