Not Fully Baked Just Bought the Swann DVR8-4500 package with 4 cameras and I like the system, however, I cannot remote playback the video files on my phone. I spoke with Technical support and they stated there is a firmware update in the works for the DVR that will allow the app to use the feature, but no ETA. This might be a deal breaker and may need to return the system. Other than the remote playback, the live viewing works pretty good. Hopefully Swann will get it together and finish products before they sell them.
Always have to reset my phone.. The app doesn't work properly on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6), I have to reset my whole phone and that sometimes doesn't work. I wish there was a reset button within the app itself for a reset. Or just fix it all together!!! Not happy with this app at all. I many use it as a nanny cam and can't view the daily activities till I go home. No bueno!!! :/
Inconsistent Only works for a few days at a time and then magically won't work for days at a time. This is supposed to be for security which means consistency is everything. I feel conned. The good piece if mind that you can check your cameras whenever you want is a lie with this. Get used to crossing your fingers to hope it works every time you open the app up.
You have to update DVR firmware for remote playback to work on app and a few more. Only live view works without touching anything! Not complete out of the box and no info to go with it. Glad for me I knew better. You have to go looking for all info yourself. App sucks and could be better but works half the time
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SWAN SECURITY SYSTEM!! We purchased this from Sam's and we cannot pull it up on our smart phones. You will always have to uninstall on your phone, or disconnect on the dvr. PLEASE HEAR ME DON'T BUY THIS. The price is not right!!! I had to give it 1 star..but that's a lie. This system sucks!!!!
The app needs work (Note 3, Tab 4) Digital zoom should be standard on all security camera apps, I don't know why this one doesn't have it. Remote playback isnt working on my phone or my tab, for some reason it keeps saying that there is a network connection issue. I don't think that is the issue considering the live view works OK and the remote playback on my puter works fine. I think the system itself needs some tweaks before they can fix the app, but that's just my opinion.
