About this app

The Grip app gives you a complete overview of your income and expenditure, so you can see exactly what you are spending your money on. This will show you where you might be able to cut down on your spending, which we also want to help you with. We give useful savings-related and other tips and show you how to handle your money differently. This will leave you with more money for the things that matter most to you.

The benefits of the Grip app:

• Grip automatically assigns all your transactions to categories, so you can see exactly what you are spending every month on things like shopping or socialising.

• One app for all your bank accounts. You can now add all your ABN AMRO, ING, Rabobank, SNS Bank, bunq and ICS credit card accounts. More banks will follow.

• If there are certain things you want to spend less money on, like clothes for instance, you can set a budget. Grip will then show you how much you can still spend.

• If you’ve almost gone over your budget, Grip can alert you, if you want. Simply enable push notifications in the app (once only) and Grip will keep you up to date.

• If you want to find out how much you spent on a holiday, you can tag all your transactions for that holiday, from plane tickets to sunscreen to renting skis.

You can use the Grip app if you are aged 18 or older and have an ABN AMRO, ING, Rabobank, SNS Bank or bunq Premium checking account.

It's really good and a nice idea, but if the automatic categorisation fails in determining the right column for a certain transfer to fall in, then you need to go back manually and change every time that the transaction happened. It even asks if you want to have similar transactions moved like that which would be really nice in theory, BUT all the "similar" ones are transactions you've already changed!! So saying "yes" doesn't change anything. Great app otherwise.

Only large transactions are showing up. Useless if it does not detect grocery expenses. [Edit] After cleaning the app data and uninstalling the app then reinstalling again, it works. But it only detects grocery expenses for *new* transactions, while for other accounts it shows older ones too. In other areas the app feels buggy too. The idea for this app is great, but it feels like a Beta version [/Edit]

Hello Maurice, after you remove the app, the transactions need to be re-categorized. When the transactions are placed in the right category for 50% the app will immediately put them in the right category itself. Elvira

I have no idea why, but no matter how many times I try, I wouldn't receive the primary activation SMS. Update: I removed theapplication and installed again, no change. I am not sure if there may be a problem with the application, looks like the government in my country somehow blocks SMS verification messages for many platforms. I wish we could signup with our emails.
