The app seems to run fine on my HTC 10 but when the app is used to sync the time with the Gopro it syncs the local time. For me that is Australian Eastern time. For the auto movie edit feature to work the Gopro and the Trace device must be synced to UTC time. So basically this app becomes useless for its intended purpose. I spent over 6 hours trying to get this to work. When pushing the sync to Gopro button I get a message saying "Is this a Gopro Hero Session?" I click OK and get a message "Unable to sync gopro" Switched to my girlfriends iphone and the times synced to UTC time within seconds.
I have an android version on my Samsung. I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app a number of times. This has previously kick started the Bluetooth connection and got things going for a short amount of time. Now I cannot even pair the trace with the app. When it works it is a great bit of kit but if you are using it more than twice a week then this level of messing about is tedious. Sort it out. A great bit of kit let down by the app.
Great app and device. Just bought one for one of my buddies and my son. Now we can compare sessions. Use the device on all my boards. Great feedback of how you're riding amd how much.
Not working on android Not being prompted for gopro wifi passwd on android devices while syncing time. It works well on iphone though...
Love this app! The Trace adds to the fun of surfing. Love the data. Wish the Trace would show water temperature.
Trace is great for your individual surfing statistics. You can compare yours with the other app users worldwide it has leader boards for waves ridden, distance of each wave, air time, cutback angle, distance paddling, and much more sync with GoPro and you can see how you rode the waves totally cool.
