The idea is a great one, and the app on the Mac is fantastic, but... Everything I open the app it takes about 30-60 minutes to bring up thumbnails of my photos that are synced from the mac. I wouldn't mind this, except this time frame includes ones I have downloaded for offline editing. Why do these need so long to show up in the app? Can't the offline editing ones show before trying to find the others? Why aren't thumbnails stored on the phone, and then updated if they need to be when the app syncs? These are actual questions, any chance of an answer?
$10 a month to sync MY photos. What a joke! It's not like we are using any HD space on your servers justifying the high cost... Make the app $10 PERIOD, and if we have Lightroom 6, give us the dang sync capabilities. Adobe, you are hated by anyone that is a hobbyist. Charging up the wahoo for everything. It's ridiculous.
If you do not have the main program this apps is not for you. It took 111 photos off my phone and lost all videos. It took me hours to find and download the photos that now still copied to the Adobe site and want them off their servers NOW! There was no warning that my files were going be moved and no clear way to get them but download and install 30 trial version of the program and that still didn't get me everything. I work in cyber security this nearly ransomware as they nearly make you buy the monthly app/ program. Again do not install and use unless you have the full program and time to wast trying to get your photos back.
I LOVED the old app. I don't understand why the changes were made the way they were on the update. It's not intuitive at all! And I use the desktop version daily. Where did the saturation and luminance panel go? Why is Clarity under light and the rest under color? If anything why not set it up more closely resembling the desktop LR with a basic panel etc. Also why can't I add points to the tone curve? As it is the tone curve in the app is 100% useless where as one of the most powerful tools on desktop!
I've been using the Lightroom mobile app for flagging images with no issues. Moments after I add or remove a flag the change is mirrored in my desktop library. The problem I've noticed is that you can't actually edit the images using Lightroom mobile. They have convenient sliders that allow you to modify all your settings but as soon as you go back to the library it deletes all of your work and sets the sliders back to 0. I've tried forcing the sync as well as reinstalling the app and the desktop program with no success. Another regular issue I have is after I finish an event and sync the next event over the pics stop loading after a while. All I can see is the outlines where the pics should be. I've tried smaller collections and enabling offline editing but the pics never appear. The only way to fix the problem is to uninstall the app and start over. This becomes really annoying when you have to do it every time you want to sync over new pics.
Lightroom no longer renders Raw file previews from my Samsung Galaxy s8. Which means I can't use it to edit photos taken with my phone. It is now a useless mobile app.
