iExit 2.0 is finally here and it comes with no shortage of goodies. A redesigned user interface, new searching options (Preset Filters), background notifications, 3000+ hotel and dining coupons, more customization options, and lots of new points of interest with way more on the way.
iExit tells you what's coming up in real time when driving on the interstate. It's designed to easily communicate which upcoming exits have what you need, whether that's gas, a hotel, a rest area, or specifically a Starbucks.
Your GPS will tell you how to get there. iExit will tell you where to stop along the way.
"Do you have enough gas to wait until the next town? Is there a bathroom coming up any time soon? Need to buy a tent at Wal-Mart? The iExit app will tell you exactly what lies ahead."

The same solution will be applied to our Colorado Traffic/Travel/NOAA iPhone app as well. For the next version, the interstates will be listed on the home page just like the iPhone app as well.

The West Virginia 511 Drive Safe mobile app provides drivers with audible, hands-free traffic alerts from their smartphone.
Open the app when you get in the car to begin your drive then set the phone aside while driving. The WV 511 Drive safe app will use your phone's speaker and GPS location to provide you with the audible travel advisories near your current location as you drive.
In the settings menu you can customize the app to adjust the advisory replay interval and the number of miles radius for which you are interested in receiving advisories.
HOW IT WORKS
While driving you will receive audible updates on nearby construction, crashes, traffic delays, weather advisories and other helpful traveler information on nearby interstates and other high priority roadways while being able to keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. The WV 511 Drive Safe app will continue to update you with nearby advisories as your vehicle continues to move.
The application gives you audio player controls for Play, Pause, Stop, Skip, and Replay All.
If the GPS signal is not available the device will utilize the highest precision location tool available (whether it be GPS or cell tower triangulation).
You do not need to register to use this app or to get these alerts. We don't get or record any identifying information about you or your phone. By default, you will be elected into reporting your device-determined speed along with your location to our servers, but you can elect to opt-out from within the application. You must opt-out of this selection each time the application is restarted.
The application is based on Information Logistics’ patent pending "Open Microphone Platform", which is a queue-driven streaming technology platform used in combination with your phone's built-in GPS. The data for the system is the WV travel advisory data.
IMPORTANT - Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
IMPORTANT - NON-GPS DEVICES This application will have some limited functionality on these devices.
The VDOT 511 mobile application provides real-time access to traffic and road weather information supplied by the Virginia Department of Transportation. Traffic information includes current traffic speeds on interstate and primary routes, the latest incident and construction information, and bridge status. Road weather information shows the severity of road conditions and road closures caused by weather. The information, which is regularly and automatically updated, is provided to the user through voice alerts and is also shown in real-time on maps along with the location of the user.
As the user moves through the highway network, the app keeps track of the location of the user on the map, and also notifies the user of problems ahead through voice alerts. The user can select how far ahead these alerts are given (5, 10 or 15 miles).
The maps also indicate the location of message signs and cameras allowing the user to see what messages are being displayed and watch video from the roadside cameras.
The VDOT 511 mobile application provides current travel times for many pre-defined routes throughout the state. The user can select "favorites" from the comprehensive list of routes. These favorites are then grouped together for ease of access. Travel times for both directions are given per route.
A special "Reach The Beach" feature helps beach-goers by providing the latest travel times for routes to Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks. As the user approaches a key point where a route decision can be made, the app tells the user what the current travel times are from that point to the chosen destination. When leaving the beach, the user can chose from one of four "Home " destinations of Richmond, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads and Skippers.
VDOT maintains one News and eight Traffic Twitter feeds. All are readily accessible through the 511 mobile application's main menu.
What's in this Rest Stops app: Over two thousand Welcome centers, turn outs, service plazas, scenic vistas and rest areas. A detail view lists each rest stops amenities like restrooms, picnic tables, vending machines, pet-friendly, RV dump, handicap accessible, security and even wi-fi.
You’ve had it happen; you’re on a route that you don't know like the back of your hand yet. You were unfamiliar with that part of the road, so you get out your heavy books and maps to plan your next stop or you can fiddle with your GPS unit which is loaded with stuff you don't want. But the economy is causing states to close and re-open rest areas all the time. This app tries to stay current with news and user reports but there will be mistakes. You can submit corrections from each point.
The Rest Stops data is stored on your phone, so calling upon a website for information is not necessary. This is great for improving speed when you’re in rural areas or otherwise out of range for decent service.
It integrates nicely with Google Maps to display points of interest on a map.
Don’t take even one more trip without Rest Stops. Download this app now for a more comfortable travel stop experience every time you travel. Or get the Plus version for many more cool features.
** Phone Call Permission: This is only so you can tap a button and call the place (if it has a number) without exiting and going into the dialer manually.
