From every state in the US, gain valuable road condition information such as road construction zones, severe weather alerts, traffic conditions, road closures and more.
Our no-nonsense approach to our app's screen design means that the 511 Road Conditions information for all 50 states is available on a single screen so you can get in and out of the app quickly. If the 511 service is not available in a state, we link to their equivalent Department of Transportation road conditions service.
All 50 states are included!
Click the state name to go right to their road conditions map using your phone's default web browser. Long-click the state to call directly into their 511 traffic information voice recognition service. It couldn't be easier!
No advertising is included in the app - just an easy, clean interface to get quick access to the information that you need. This app is perfect for family road trips, long haul truckers, business travelers and road warriors.
• A zoom-enabled map with traffic event icons that can be selected.
• Real-time updates on winter road conditions, traffic incidents, road work, construction, and road closures.
• Current traffic speeds and closed-circuit television (CCTV) traffic camera images in select cities (Ames, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Des Moines, Iowa City, Quad Cities, Sioux City, and Waterloo) and across the state.
• Electronic roadway sign messages.
• Highway rest area locations.
The primary responsibility of every driver is the safe operation of his/her vehicle. Iowa law prohibits all persons from using a handheld electronic communication device to write, send or read a text message while driving a motor vehicle. Teen drivers with restricted licenses are prohibited from using any electronic communication or entertainment device while driving. While traveling, mobile communication devices should be used only when the motor vehicle is at a complete stop off the traveled portion of the roadway. Do not text and drive (it's the law) or use this app while driving.
We welcome your feedback on this app. Please send your suggestions, questions or bugs in an email to 511Feedback@dot.iowa.gov.

Where’s Kepler Cascade? How long is the Cache Creek Trail? What’s Travertine? How do I get to the nearest flyshop? What’s there to do in Cody? Yellowstone Outdoors provides an interactive map and information on these and more than 1,500 other attractions, activities, and services in the Greater Yellowstone Region of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
As its name suggests, Yellowstone Outdoors presents the outdoor opportunities of the region through an interactive platform that both orients the user by their current location and by a comprehensive listing of a wide range of outdoor attractions and related services. Yellowstone Outdoors combines countless websites, dozens of maps, and stacks of travel publications, and local knowledge into a single easy-to-use app.
A visitor traveling to Yellowstone National Park from Bozeman Montana, Cody Wyoming, or Idaho Falls Idaho can visualize the coming opportunities as they approach – be it history or geology, hiking trails, museums, or whitewater rafting. The user can search for specific attractions or simply look for what’s coming up next on the map. Anxious for a spot to enjoy a picnic or get out for a hike? Not sure what Big Springs or the Sheepeater Cliffs are, the app shows pictures and describes the attractions, and hundreds more. Need a fishing license or a can of bear spray, find the nearest flyshop or sporting goods store, relative to your location.
Yellowstone Outdoors is intended for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds; those who love adventure, those who are casual travelers, and those who want a “virtual tour” from the comfort of their couch. Available for smart phones and tablets.
A note about maps: the app uses two types of maps, online and offline. When there is a data connection available, users can select “Map Type” to choose from one of the map layers provided by Google Maps (normal, terrain, or satellite). For those areas where there is no data connection available, an offline map is pre-loaded into the app allowing the app to function. The app download size is large due to the fact that the maps required for an area as expansive as the Yellowstone Region require a fair amount of space.
