Have you ever wanted to be the hero of your own story? With AI Dungeon, you can be. Roleplay in any scenario you can imagine, with artificial intelligence creating infinite possibilities for your character to interact with. Lead an army fighting back an alien invasion, or be a mythical detective investigating the attempted assassination of the fairy queen. Be the Dungeon Master in your own Dungeons and Dragons campaign. AI Dungeon is the first ever artificially intelligent open-ended text-based role playing game (rpg) adventure game. It uses cutting edge artificial intelligence technology to generate infinite content on the fly, giving you a completely unique and dynamic experience every time you play. AI Dungeon is also the first app to use the Stable Diffusion in-app for image generation (similar to other AI image generators like Midjourney and Dall-e 2).

Define your world

In AI Dungeon, you can roleplay in any scenario or world you can imagine. Choose from predefined worlds created by other users, or create your own unique world using our quick start system. You can also use the AI generator to create a random world for you to explore.

Take Action

As the adventure's protagonist, you can decide what your character says or does. The AI will produce responses from the other characters or world events for you to respond to. Every adventure is unique and unexpected.

AI Dungeon was first thought of while Nick Walton played Dungeons and Dragons (dnd). They were playing through their campaign. Nick thought that there had to be a way to play this with AI. Now you can play a Dungeons and Dragons-esque game right from your phone.

Ratings and reviews

This is everything I could have ever wanted from an AI like this. My only complaints are that the AI likes to forget things (but that's a thing with all AI), and also that I have no friends, so I can't access the multiplayer functions. Other than that, great app! Best part is, you dont have to sell your kidney for a subscription service that costs more than youtube premium. You can use the app completely free, endlessly, and only better settings are behind the paywall. Overall, underrated app.

People are being a little too harsh on AI Dungeon. I migrated here from another AI app. This one has been so much better - with the option to retry, undo, redo, edit, and everything in between. I really don't mind the slowness of the "non pro" version and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a single ad. On top of this, the bugs that have been encountered so far are easily fixed by closing AI Dungeon and reopening it. The AI doesn't make sense sometimes, but it's worth it. My issue? Like all AI, it's not perfect. Sometimes it forgets what gender you are, or previous events, but I've yet to use an AI that can keep everything straight. AI Dungeon is still the most robust AI I've seen for solo roleplay. No, it doesn't have DND rulebooks, and no, it doesn't always understand niche terminology, but it gets 99% of the way there, and the ability to edit the AI's responses completes the experience. 10/10, would play Rated 'R' Cyberpunk again.
