I can't caution you enough against using this app. Kittyhawk and several other third party apps that intergrate data are actively searching for alternatives as well. AIR MAP is actively lobbying with Feinstein to turn the industry on its ear. If thus legislation passes it will be chaos and set the industry back a decade. Call your senator about Feinsteins bill and delete this app.
This company is supporting a bill trying to limit the commercial drone industry. The bill is written by people who don't understand what drones are and it will hurt our industry. If you can't support drone pilots we will stop supporting you. This is based on Airmap's stance if the H.R. 2930: The Drone Innovation Act
No way I can use an app that disguises itself as helping drone pilots and behind closed doors wants to create/support legislation that allows towns to arbitrarily control what is now federal airspace. Instead of one regulation, we'd have a patchwork of tens, off not hundreds of thousands of regulations. But wait, AirMap would love to potentially sell that info. App is now uninstalled on all my devices.
Let's begin... First the web site will not allow for updates to profiles and adding aircraft with attempts on three different browsers. The app version here, though has some serious potential, apparently logged a flight I had planned for the future. I cannot find a way to edit that flight. Personally, I don't feel this app is ready beyond beta testing. As I state, this app has potential but I can get the information I need elsewhere.
What a bunch of backstabbers. Throwing the very community that supported them under the bus supporting a nasty, crony capitalist bill. #LateStageCapitalism at its finest. The Android app won't recognize my login. It "accepts" my login, then continues operating as if I'd never logged in every time. But I don't mind so much now, now that I know they're only mining my data to sell it to the highest bidder, and don't give a damn about supporting our right to fly.
I see a map with a billion damn circles and below that is the list of nearby airports, AMA Fields, Heli ports, etc. But there is no way to tell what label belongs to what circle. I tap on the circle or a label in the list and get nothing. I'm just tapping glass like a damn chimp. BRILLIANT!
