About this app

Turn your device into a wind tunnel simulator !

Draw obstacles and watch the fluid flow around. Experiment with different sizes, shapes, aerodynamic profiles and see what happens !

Visualize airflow with smoke, particles, or observe pressure field, velocity. The simulation engine also computes an approximation of lift and drag.

The Wind Tunnel free app lets you play with the fluid and understand physics effects.
Fluid motion is computed by solving Navier-Stokes equations, at high definition and in real-time thanks to optimized code taking the most out of CPU and GPU performance.
Observe the mechanism of lift/drag over an airfoil, and how it stalls when the angle of attack increases (use two-finger rotate gesture to rotate the scene).

This demo version includes 3 pre-defined scenes: airfoil, rocks or torus.
Choose between different visualization modes : Smoke, pressure or speed, and adjust input speed/ fluid viscosity.
In the "torus" mode you can draw/erase your own obstacles, the fluid wraps around the screen.

Use the android "back" or "menu" buttons to show/hide the interface.

Pretty straightforward. I'd like the option to show forces and their direction when my own objects are drawn (I know it would require more computing power) One more thing for the developers - add a simple wind tunnel option where the particles can only circulate through top-bottom "portal" not all top-bottom-right-left 😉 Other than that, great app.

Pretty useless as a standalone app, but I guess the point is to act as a demo for the full version. Only has three visualisation modes and you can not draw your own shapes, rather it simply comes with an airfoil/wing shape and some blobs, but it does enough to prove the basics of the platform and to give an idea as to whether you would like the full version.

So it looks like this free version does not work proberly on the latest version of Android! Has not been upgraded for a number of years. Not game to pay for it. I have tried to contact the owner a couple of time by email but they are not replying to me. Shame really looks like a good app to explain wind effects on trees, wings or just any object.
