It's been 2 years since I was told this app would eventually become compatible with Android wear. Still waiting. Still let down. Growing impatient with the developers of this app. It's why I still haven't upgraded to pro.
Great for finding trails and hikes. We would have been lost without it. Got off a trail and would never have found our way back on our own without it. Great way to log your hikes and add pics along the way. 5 stars if it could alert you that you were getting off the trail too far. We followed a trail for about a mile before I check the map to find out the unmarked trail we were on made a turn and we missed the loop. Awesome app though.
Please ux test and optimize your app. Searching by map is a pain. Why does a trail pop up and cover half my screen every time I move the map? Why do several floating buttons cover up the map? Why is there no menu? Why no feedback option? ...
This app used to work good for recording my hikes. But one day i noticed when I turned my screen off it wouldn't record and then when I looked at my screen again it would update the recording between where I turned it off and turned it back on with a straight line. I turned my screen timeout off so I can carry my phone in my backpack and leave the screen on but that eats up my battery to much especially on longer hikes. At first I thought this was my phone but I even got a new phone to make sure and it still does it.
This app has an incredible number of trails! It's great for planning your own hikes, though I haven't gotten much use out of the pre-planned hikes. This app's problem is the way it downloads data. It blanks out and needs to download new maps every time the view is planed, zoomed, restarted, or foregrounded after multitasking. This app can download offline maps with a hefty recurring in-app subscription payment, but the default functionality isn't great.
I understand that trails are to get you out exercising but I need trails that say if they would be accessible by a handicap wheelchair or scooter. I want to take my mom that loves waterfalls and wildflowers but can not walk. It would be nice if this app did that.
