About this app

How is this translation work any different from others? Most of the existing translations are too literal and thus unreadable, or if they are fluent and readable, the lack of context surrounding the verses make them incomprehensible for those who would not have the time, nor interest, to study the extensive commentaries of the Qur’ān. This translation, with its embedded explanatory words, phrases, and notes, makes it easy for any reader to understand the message of God found in these verses, in their proper contexts.

This publication is designed to make studying and understanding the Qur’an more accessible and understandable for all. The text features headings and main topics, as well as a parallel English-Arabic translation.

We’ve added a few additional features to make the translation easier to understand. Inserting words in the translation and adding the Purpose of Revelation helps bring clarity and context to the text. Explanatory paragraphs and footnotes seamlessly inserted give a deeper meaning to sections you’re about to read. There’s also a detailed index that allows you to quickly search for topics and passages.

You can adjust the font size and the font choice to your preference, as well as use a dark or light mode. You can also change the layout of the text to feature only the English translation, only the Arabic text, only the English transliteration or any combination of the three. You can also choose to view the text as a paragraph for a smoother flow or in Ayaat view for true readability. There is also a phrase view for bite-size reading to help you understand the language. There are also enhanced tools to help expand the text, split text for comprehension and highlight phrases to view them in different formats. We’ve also added a search engine that’s constantly evolving, alongside regular refinements to the text itself. We have an exciting roadmap outlined for future updates with expanded features and tools which will continue to strengthen your connection with the Holy Book, and Allah SWT.

Thank you very much for all of your efforts in building upon the recently-published work of Maulana Syed Muhammad Rizvi and creating this wonderful, free app that can be shared far and wide. It will become my new regular Quran recitation app going forward due to the additional context it provides on top of the translation (both of which are in clear, modern English). I would love to see a Bookmark feature so that we can jump to ayats of interest without losing our regular recitation spot.
